Took a few photos at the end of both Spits, sat and ate my museli bar. While sitting there watching the world go bye, I noticed a fin and it turned into a pod of at least 10-15 Danny Dolphins about 200meters away. They obviously found a school of fish, as they held their breath for over a minute. Very hard to take a photo.
After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive.
I rode through Muriel Henchman Park, compared to yesterday's hundreds of empty boat trailers, today there were bugger all. I rode along the bike path upto and through Seaworld's carpark.
I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty, then crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to MacIntosh Island. Goosey Lucy and mates were out and about. The 4 goslings are missing, Mark said that he has to give them away, as there would be too many geese.

I am now convinced it is the BLOW LIKE BUGGERY season.
I left at 8:59 am, after shopping at Runaway Bay and having a retirement coffee. The breeze was moderate and building from the South East to bloody gale force, the Broadwater was choppy with white caps appearing later.

9:34am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's lowlight: I punctured near The Spit. I wonder if it was caused by all the shit on the shared paths caused by 2 days of severe storms.
I left home at 6:20. The breeze was light and building from the North West, the Broadwater was glassy turning choppy and it was starting to get warm..
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continuing through the Broadwater Parklands. I continued down to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck. Continued along the Shared Path, to my normal spot at Surfers, to take my weather photos. I headed off to the Spit along the various shared paths.
Due to the weather, there were people everywhere.
I continued to the Seaway via the Federation Walk. Rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, then out to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Started my 2nd lap of the Spits, when I noticed my rear tyre was softish. I headed straight homeward, but only made it to Seaworld, when I had to change the tube. It was a very slow leak. My pump wasn't real flash but I managed to pump air into the tyre but it was still softish, so I headed directly home at a slow, controllable speed.
I made it home without any dramas. Pumped up my tyre to 50psi and a couple of hours later, I took off my rear wheel and put it in the 'truck'. Tomorrow, I will go to my local bicycle shop with my rear wheel fully inflated and ask about a new hand pump that will pump up my Presta valve better than my current pump, and buy a new tyre and 2 spare tubes. When I changed the tube, I had a good look at my rear tyre, it was very soft rubber, the tread had worn away from the middle. It had done 7,100kms carrying around my large body, so it is time for a new tyre.
Update: Bought a new hand pump and Aaron tested it, also ordered 2 Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. I have had these on various bikes and they suit me. No punctures.
8:14am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: was the joy of riding, after getting my 2nd jab last Saturday, i felt RS, but after today's ride, I felt back to normal.
I left home at 8:04am, after Marg made me go for a ride, I didn't need much convincing. The breeze was light but building from the North West, the Broadwater was glassy turning choppy later.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continuing through the Broadwater Parklands. I continued down to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck, I was attacked by a swarm of insects. Little bastards. It must have been the humid, wet weather. Continued along the Shared Path, to my normal spot at Surfers, to take my weather photos. I headed off to the Spit along the various shared paths.
Due to the weather, there was bugger all people outside.
I continued to the Seaway via the Federation Walk. Rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, then out to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Sat and ate my museli bar.
The wind was building quite gusty from the North West, which meant a headwind, so I headed homeward the quickest way. Strailgt to andd past the Southport YC, then stopped at Cafe Rockpool and ordered a coffee and a toasted ham and cheese sanga. It was YUMMA.
I continued homeward via a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 178 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. School holidays, it is nearly full.

Being late, I didn't ride around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to MacIntosh Island. Goosey Lucy and some mates surprised me by showing their 4 new goslings. 3 of the adults were on guard duty and you don't mess with them, they were very in charge. I took their photo.
As I had already had my coffee, I gave Cafe Rockpool amiss.
I also gave 'our' caravan park amiss.
Arrived at home. Another pearler of a ride.

While I rode along the gravel track, I encountered a small Eastern brown snake, probably 3 foot long.
As I rode down the small decline and turned right to ride up the next small incline, which just happens to be a very fast section of my ride, a snake was halfway across the gravel path. I comfortably rode around him. I stopped but he had escaped by the time I was back at the spot. Bugger.
Continued to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, then out to the tip of the Seawall/Spit/ Being the weekend, there were a 1,000 cyclists at the end of the Spit. They were on some sort of charity ride. After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path beside Seaworld Drive, back past the Southport YC, gave Cafe Rockpool amiss, as I already had my coffee.

Today's highlight:was the surprise of seeing Triple 8 announce Jamie Whincup's replacement for 2022 season at Cavil Ave, Surfers.
I left home at 7:02am, the breeze was light and variable, the Broadwater was glassy.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. It was cool ish but didn't need to put on my spray jacket, then continued through the Broadwater Parklands where the GC show was and nearly has cleaned up. I continued down to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path to my normal spot at Surfers. At Cavil Ave, I saw Jamie Whincup's Supercar, so I stopped and took a few photos. While there, I rang Lukey and he said that at 8:30am, 888 would be announcing Jamie's replacement, so I waited around and watched the press arrive. I saw Roland Dane talking to 3 of his team, I walked up and asked for a photo, Roland started to walk off, so I said "Roland I want you to stay, as I want to include you in my photo". He did, but see how uninterested he appears. I then waited around for Jamie, GIS and Broc to arrive and took a few more photos, then headed off to take my weather photos. I headed off to the Spit along the various shared paths.
I continued to the Seaway via the Federation Walk. Checked out the burnt out area, there was NO smoke anywhere. After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive.
I rode through Muriel Henchman Park, then I rode along the bike path upto and through Seaworld's carpark.
I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to the Sundale bridge past the Southport YC and giving MacIntosh Island a miss. I was feeling rather hungry for a coffee and toastie. So headed straight to Cafe Rockpool, where I just happened upon the Tuesday Mothers and babies' pram meeting, they were about 12 in front of me, so I waited. It was still YUMMA, when it was ready.
Pure arse, as I left Cafe Rockpool, Jamie's Supercar was on the truck stuck in the traffic, so another photo.
I continued homeward via a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 123 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.
Today's highlight:was the joy of riding and beating the GC Show crowd..Just..
I left at 6:16am, the breeze was light and variable, the Broadwater was glassy.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. It was cool and thought about putting on my spray jacket, but toughened it out then continued through the Broadwater Parklands where the GC show is being held. I continued down to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path to my normal spot at Surfers. I stopped and took my weather photos. I headed off to the Spit along the various shared paths.
I continued to the Seaway via the Federation Walk. Checked out the burnt out area, there was still one tiny area with a trickle of smoke (bugger all and my photo missed it). Rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, then out to the tip of the Seawall/Spit then back to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit then back to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Took a few photos at the end of both Spits. Sat and ate my museli bar.
After leaving The Spit, I rode back along the gravel path, and continued back to Sundale bridge past the Southport YC and giving MacIntosh Island a miss. I wanted to beat the Gold Coast show crowds back to cafe Rockpool for my coffee and toastie. WHICH I DID, arriving there at 9:05am. It was YUMMA.
The 2 girls that serve through thick and thin, both said that over the past 2 days of the GC Show, they have never been busier.
I continued homeward via a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 215 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. I believe a lot would be attending the GC Show.
Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.
Today's highlight:was photographing the burnt areas of The Spit.
I left at 6:11am, the breeze was from the West and light to moderate, Broadwater was glassy.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Stopped and put on my spary jacket then continued through the Broadwater Parklands where the GC show is being held. I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to MacIntosh Island. Goosey Lucy and mates were out and enjoying life.
The people in their 000s were at the GC Show, so I walked my bike through the area to get to Cafe Rockpool and ordered a coffee and a toasted ham and cheese sanga. It was YUMMA. Because everywhere is fenced off and QR codes everywhere, I rode to the footpath beside the Gold coast hwy to try and avoid the crowd. It worked.
Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.
Here is a 9 second video of the fire.
Today's highlight:was checking out the Bush Fire at The Spit.
I left at 10:32am, after Marg and I went out for brekky and then to Woollies. The breeze was from the East and light, Broadwater was glassy.
Last night about 5pm, we noticed smoke directly over the Broadwater from our Apartment. The smoke was increasing and then I saw the flame. Check out the video.
I rode direct to The Spit along Federation Walk, when I got opposite Muriel Henchman park, the gravel track was barricaded off and the fire was still smoldering. I took a couple of photos and then rode along Seaworld Drive to the Spit, as each track was barricaded off.
I did a lap of the Seaway/Spit and to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, where I noticed a woman who had 4 dogs. They looked like Oddball from the movie, you know that dog that protected the penguins on Middle Island at Warrnambool. Sure enough, the lady said that they were Maremma sheepdogs. I gave then a cuddle and they were beautiful.
I headed home via the Southport YC, while riding through the Broadwater Parklands, I stopped and took photos of camels, which were here for the Gold Coast Show, which starts on Saturday.
Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.
here is a 9 second video of the fire.
Today's highlight:was the weather. A complete opposite to yesterday. It was cool, sunny and a light breeze.

As usual, I rode Northward into a stiff North Westerley, to my Lands End turnaround point. I continued down to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.
Today's highlight:was the weather. A complete opposite to Sunday's. It was blowing like shit and pissed down half way through my ride BUT it was beautiful riding in the rain. SO an enjoyable ride.
I left at 6:28 am, the breeze was already blowing from the North West and pretty stiff, Broadwater was choppy with white caps.
As usual, I rode Northward into a stiff North Westerley, to my Lands End turnaround point. I continued down with a beautiful tail wind to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path to my normal spot at Surfers, still with a nice tail wind. I stopped and took my weather photos. I headed off to the Spit along the various shared paths into the wind, consequently, my speed had dropped.
I continued to the Seaway via the Federation Walk. Rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, then out to the tip of the Seawall/Spit then back to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit then back to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. While there the wind was gusting to 48kph and the spray was drowning anything that was 'game' to travel to the end of the Seawall/Spit, including me. Took a few photos at the end of both Spits. Couldn't sit and eat my museli bar, as it was blowing like buggery. I know it was gusting 48kph, as The Spit has its own meterological sites??.
After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, with a beautiful tailwind.
I rode through Muriel Henchman Park and stopped and put on my wet weather jacket and pants, as the cold front frorm the NW had arrived and it was starting to rain. At least, I was riding with the wind, so the rain was nice. I rode along the bike path upto and through Seaworld's carpark.
I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Strange, that I was the only human on the shared path from Muriel's Park to Cafe Rockpool. I think it had something to do with the gale and rain. Consequently, I headed straight to Cafe Rockpool, going past the Southport YC.
I stopped at Cafe Rockpool and ordered a coffee and a toasted ham and cheese sanga. It was YUMMA. While I sat and ate my toastie and coffee, I was there only customer.
The rain had eased considerably, so I continued homeward via a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 129 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
Arrived at home. Even though it blew like shit and rained, I still loved my ride.
Today's highlight:Everyone on the Gold Coast were out to watch me ride. There were people evrywhere. The weather was absolutely stunning.
From Labrador to The Spit, every carpark was overflowing with boat traillers and cars. I have never seen them so full, so early in the morning.
I left at 6:37 am, the breeze was light and variable, the Broadwater started out glassy.

Every car spot was taken, I couldn't believe it.
After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive.
I rode through Muriel Henchman Park, there was a queue of jetski owners waiting to lauch their jetskis, but the downside for them is that there aare no car spots. Unreal. I rode along the bike path upto and through Seaworld's carpark.
I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to MacIntosh Island. Goosey Lucy and mates were locked up on their island, as it is Sunday.
I stopped at Cafe Rockpool and ordered a coffee and a toasted ham and cheese sanga. It was YUMMA. Spoke to Kamal for 5 minutes.
I continued homeward via a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 150 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. Wal has done a runner, he wasn't meant to leave until Tuesday, but his site is empty. He has gone back into NSW to visit his daughter.

After leaving The Spit, I rode along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive.
I rode through Muriel Henchman Park, then I rode along the bike path upto and through Seaworld's carpark. There were a couple of hundred cars parked at the back of the carpark. It turns out that the owners were then bused over to the Jessica Watson movie set. they were the 'crowd welcoming Jessica back to Australia'.
I rode around Marina Mirage and the jetty. Crossed over Seaworld Drive back onto the Federation Walk and continued back to MacIntosh Island. Goosey Lucy and mates were all out and enjoying life to the max.

Being Sunday, the shared paths are quite busy.

After leaving The Spit, I rode back along the new shared path. I rode through Seaworld's carpark, it was in lockdown and the carpark was about 10% full with its normal employees. The Fire Brigade were testing their ladder, so I stopped and took a photo, before continuing around Marina Mirage and then out to the end of the jetty. I rode past the Southport YC, back to Cafe Rockpool. All the table and chairs were locked away, so I bought a coffee and sat on the lawn under the shade of a tree. It was quite pleasant.
