- Weather: A cool night, 10.3° at 6:30am and reached a sunny 23.4°.
- Wind: 7 - 15kph North Easterly.
It was a normal cool night, so I am still using my sleepingbag as a doona and was as warm as toast, but we both slept ratshit. Marg got up at 5:30am, consequently, waking me as well. I got up at 6am, as we were going to watch Mont (granddaughter) at her gym, so we had to be at their home by 7:30am, which meant we had to leave camp at 7:10am, which we did. We followed Luke and family to Coomera, where Mont does her 1 hour of gymnastics. The first sign you notice is 'No Photos of the Gymnasts' unreal. The gym course lasted just on an hour, there were about 8 kids in each group and maybe 5 or 6 groups spread out in the school's gym. There was equipment everywhere, it was very well run and all the kids appeared to enjoy themselves. At the end of the class, Luke takes Mont and Jo to DonutKing at Helensvale, so Marg and I just happen to tag along. I had 2 hot dogs and coke while had a crepe with choccy sauce from the Crepe shop next door. Luke and family left, so Marg and I walked around the shops, Marg is still looking for a dress to wear to Luke and Jodi's wedding next April.
We arrived back at camp about 11am, driving past David and Di's camp, it was empty. I knew that they were leaving soon, but wasn't sure which day, well I know now.
According to their website, they called past our camp yesterday, but we were at Bingo, SO I have posted on their website that we will have to arrange a get together next year when we met up at Dicky Beach and here at Broadwater.
We had lunch and rolled up the full side awning to let the sun shine in. I went riding to Surfers and then out to the Spit, where I kept a close eye out for a baby brown snake, that I saw yesterday, but all good. No snake sightings today. As I rode past 2 couples walking in from the Spit, one of the guys called out my name.
It was Justin, my mate Johnno's eldest son and his wife, so I stopped and had a quick chat. It was great to see Just again, I have also emailed Johnno, SO we can arrange a catch up and drink while I am at Southport.
After leaving Just, I continue my ride back past our camp upto Angler's Paradise (my turnaround point) and then back to camp.
As I am writing this, it is currently mid afternoon, Marg is having a nanna nap, while I am sitting on my chair on the beach in the shade watching the activity on the Broadwater and there is heaps, the 2 Jet Boats filled with tourists, are doing 360s out the front of our park, the Seaworld seaplane has just taken off again, there are a squillion boats of all types (yachts, jet skis, cruisers, speedboats etc). There are 2 labradors retrieving balls that their owners are throwing into the water, there are 2 fisherman fishing in front of me, one has actually catch a fish, it looks like a flounder. There's a guy with a long tube getting something from the sandbank, must be bait of some type, there are 3 families with little kids making sandcastles, while others are playing in the water. So there is heaps of action.
Dinner was leftovers of last night's Roothy's curried sausages which were YUMMA again, followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother and the Mole.
The weather today was magnificent, with no cloud and very little wind.
Tomorrow will be similar to today's hectic schedule.

- Weather: A cool night, 12.1° at 3:00am and reached a sunny 24.4°.
- Wind: 9 - 28kph Northerly.
It was a normal cool night, so I am still using my sleepingbag as a doona and was as warm as toast, and we slept like babies. I awoke about 7:30am while Marg awoke about 8:30am. I didn't get dressed until 10:30 and then went riding to Surfers and then to the Spit when Marg rang to say Luke and family were on their way to us, SO I headed back to camp. As it was Sunday there were people everywhere. As I arrived back at camp, I saw Luke's red car at the lights, so I waited while he parked and then walked with them to our camp. We had rolls for lunch and then walked all of 20 meters to the beach while Luke, Jo and Marg sat on the beach, while Mont and I built the great wall of Southport in sand, sorry no photos, Marg wouldn't get the camera.
After the kids left, Marg and I drove to South Park for a coffee at Michels and some shopping at Woollies, BUT Michels were closing, it was 4pm and Sunday and that is closing time, so I missed out on my coffee.
Dinner was McCain pizza slices, Yumma, followed by a quiet night watching TV.
The weather today was very good, with Cirrus uncinus and a light breeze
Tomorrow will be similar to today's hectic schedule.

- Wind: 11 - 37kph Northerly.
It was a normal cool night, so I am still using my sleepingbag as a doona and was as warm as toast, and we slept like babies. I awoke about 7:30am while Marg awoke about 8:00am. I had brekky and went riding at 9:00am to Surfers and then to the Spit and upto Runaway Bay, while Marg did skin polishing and finished her sapphire. It looks really nice. Marg's pretty talented.
After lunch, we drove to Bunnings to buy a soaker hose, so I can water our instant turf on our site and also buy a thermometer. You would not believe it BUT Bunnings had closed off that aisle for restocking, SO I couldn't buy either as they were both in the same aisle. After Bunnings, we had coffee at Michels at South Park. The rest of the afternoon was spent just buggering about at camp, before I walked over to watch and photo George and his mates.
Dinner was sausages and vegies, very YUMMA, followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother. They couldn't drag out the eviction anymore if they wanted too. It was so boring.
The weather today was back to magnificent with NO clouds and a light breeze

- Weather: A cool night, 14.4° at 6:00am and reached a sunny 24.2°.
- Wind: 6 - 39kph South Easterly.
It was a milder night, so I used my 2 blankets and was as warm as toast, and we slept like babies. We awoke about 7:00am and had brekky and got ourselves organised and left camp at 8:30am for Bingo at the Southport Sharks which started at 9:30am. There were heaps of people there when we arrived, I bought 2 full sets for $46. By 9:30am the place was jumping, after our 25 games, Marg won NIL and so did I, so we lost $46 for the morning.
On the way back to camp, we bought a cheap thermometer at Bunnings for the 12v fridge/freezer. After lunch, Marg buggered about at camp, while I went riding to Surfers, The Spit and turned around at Angler's Paradise a total of 35kms.
About 4pm, I watered the instant turf on our site and then sat in the shade looking out over the Broadwater (see photo), it is so relaxing and beautiful.
Dinner was Gordon Blue and vegies, very YUMMA, followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother.
The weather today was back to magnificent with NO clouds but with a stiff breeze
Tomorrow, we are visiting Robina Shopping Centre.
Today's weather photo. Max was 24.2°.

This dude just motored past as I watched him.
- Weather: A cool night, 14.0° at 4:00am and reached an overcast 24.2°.
- Wind: 0 - 33kph Northerly.
It was a milder night, so I used my 2 blankets and was as warm as toast, and we slept like babies. We awoke about 7:00am and laid in bed watching Sunrise, finally getting oursleves organised and headed off to Robina Shopping Centre, as Marg is still looking for a dress to wear to our son's wedding next year.
We drove along the Gold Coast highway along the esplanade through Surfers, naturally, I bored Marg shitless by telling her about all the spots that I ride past, she was suitable 'bored shitless'. At the end of the esplanade we turned back onto the highway, bad mistake. The Light Rail is being built down the middle of the highway and there are roadworks with stoppages of upto 5 minutes everywhere. We turned right at Jupiters and headed over to Bermuda road, then eventually got to Robina, found a car space closer than normal.
Now the object of this shopping adventure was for Marg to hopefully find a dress to wear to the wedding, so instead of me being absolutely bored shitless, we parted ways and decided to meet in an hour or so, Marg would ring me. Sounds like a plan.
I had to go to Telstra, so I did, Nathan was the dude who handled my problem which was. We bought another (3 all together) Telstra Elite WiFi modem ($34.50) with 2Gb of space, as we need more than our normal 15Gb per month. Sorry, I digressed, my problem was simple, how do I find out how much of our 2Gb have we used?
Anyway, Nathan told me how to do that and I was happy and left him. Next port of call was Australian Geographics, I am looking for a small compass that velcros onto my bike, I had bought one from them years ago, and they no longer sell that model, but they had a $10 model which can be adapted. I am on a roll, I need to buy another pair of thongs, so I went to Target and they had 2 pairs of size 13, I tried then on and they fitted so I brought both pairs. When you have big feet and can buy a pair of cheap shoes that fit you, you do. SO here I am standing in the queue at Targets with everyone else, when my mobile rings (my mobile has a very distinctive ring "Wodger" from the Life of Brian), it was Marg looking for me. We met up and Marg didn't have any luck with a dress. Damn, that means more shopping for a bloody dress and me being bored shitless again. On the way back to camp, we stopped at Michels at South Park for lunch and some shopping at Woollies.
Back at camp, I received a call from Coastline RV telling me that my flat hose has arrived, so I drove to Harbourtown and picked it up. About 3:30pm, I dropped Marg at our club, you are wondering which one of the three (Southport Workers Club) and I would meet her there about 5:20pm for dinner. I got there at 5pm and sat in front of the TV watching sport, until Marg came out of the Pokies. She lost.
Dinner was YUMMA, we both had the same meals as last week, Marg had garlic prawns, while I had a mixed grill, with 2 pancakes for desert and all washed down with a couple of chilled refreshers.
Followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother.
The weather today was crap, overcast with a low wind chill factor but still reached 24.2°.
Tomorrow, we are visiting Sharyn's property in the Hinterland to do some fossicking.
No Photos today.
- Weather: A cool night, 14.9° at 6:30am and reached a sunny 25.1°.
- Wind: 9 - 65kph Southerly.
It was a milder night, so I used my 2 blankets and was as warm as toast, and we slept like babies. We awoke about 7:00am and laid in bed watching Sunrise, finally getting oursleves organised and headed off at 9am to Sharyn's Hinterland Hideaway. Sharyn is a member of the Aussie Sapphire Forum and has a creek running through her property that is nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland. She allowed us to visit her and agreed to take on a fossicking trip of her creek. We arrived at 10am, parked on her lawn out the front of her house, Sharyn was in the stable attending to a horse which has cut her leg, but is recovering well. After introductions and a bit of chatting, we packed our fossicking gear into one of Sharyn's quad bikes and off we went following Sharyn, Marg was my passenger. We followed Sharyn through various paddocks, until we came to a fossicking spot. We stayed here for a while and found some pretty rocks, then decided to drive back to the mighty Navara and picked up our sieves, as we were going to another section of the creek, where we would use the sieves. After we finished, it was time to show Sharyn my floral pastel wetsuit, she insisted that I wear it and also she gave me a little gift earlier in the day, that just happen to be a lime green mankini. Borat, eat your heart out. It fitted like glove. We thanked Sharyn very much, as we loved her property and we had a great time.
Thank you, Sharyn, we loved it.
After leaving Sharyn's Hideaway, we drove to Eagle Heights to Fudge Heaven and bought 6 pieces of fudge each, then headed back to camp, arriving about 3:30pm. The rest of the afternoon, was spent doing bugger all as we were buggered.
Dinner was BBQ chook, very YUMMA. Followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother.
The weather today was sunny, with 60+kph gusts.
Tomorrow, we are cleaning the van and mighty Navara.

- Weather: A cool night, 12.0° at 3:00am and reached a sunny 22.7°.
- Wind: 7 - 30kph Southerly.
It was a cool night, so it was back to my sleepingbag and was as warm as toast, and we slept well. I awoke about 6:30am and laid in bed listening to Rich, Bridge and Spida on Gold FM, while Marg slept until 8am. I had brekky and went riding about 9am. I rode over to Surfers, while there Vic drove past me in his Ferrari, whoever the hell Vic is, then headed out to the Spit, where I saw 4 dolphins about 200 meters offshore, just frolicking about. Then I rode upto Angler's Paradise and as I got back to the park entrance about 10:30am, I then rode back to Cafe Rockpool for a coffee before getting back to camp just after 11am. Marg was sitting in the shade enjoying herself.
After lunch, we took the mighty Navara to the local carwash, opposite Harbourtown, where we cleaned the inside spotlessly, hosed the floor mats (they are removeable) and rinsed the mighty Navara. Back at camp, Marg cleaned the bits that still needing cleaning, as I walked over to the beach to watch Laurie sail his RC yacht, it was bloody marvellous. So realistic. As it turns out, after talking to Laurie, we had both sailed in our younger days and had both won Aussie Titles, way back then. After awhile Laurie gave me the RC, it was great fun sailing his yacht. His RC yacht is over 1.5 meters long with a 2 meter plus mast. After watching Laurie, I walked upto George's playground and sat on the bench seat about 3 meters from 9 Georges and sat there and took numerous photos. I am still trying to get the photo of George landing on the water. I have one photo, but would love a better photo.
Dinner was egg and bacon sangas, very YUMMA. Followed by a quiet night watching Big Brother.
The weather today was sunny with a moderate breeze.
Tomorrow, we are picking up Mont and visiting Marg's eldest sister in Brisbane.

Happy 36th Anniversary to my darling wife.
Today, we are taking Mont with us to visit Marg's eldest sister and family in Brisbane.
It was another cool night, so it was back to my sleepingbag and was as warm as toast, and I slept shithouse, I think that I may be catching a sniffle. I awoke about 6;30am and laid in bed until 7:00am, we both then got up and had brekky.
We left at 9:45am and stopped at Woollies for bread rolls for lunch and then stopped at Lukes and picked up Mont. We then head to Victoria Point a suburb of Brisbane. We had a bit of trouble finding the address and had to ask a neighbour, eventually, we found their flat, Marg saw someone inside, so I knocked on the door which had 2 deadbolts, they tried to open it but couldn't for whatever reason and then the garage door started raising. As it was lifting, I said "hurry up, Mont is dying to do a wee", the girl in the garage was not who we expected and found out that Marg's sister had moved out about 4 weeks ago. Now this could cause us a slight problem and it did, so we drove to Red Rooster and Mont felt better. We rang their house number but it showed as 'busy', so Marg rang her other sister in Melbourne, who told us their new address, which was about 2 kms away. We finally found them and had lunch, chatted and after 3 hours or so, we headed back to the Gold Coast, dropping Mont off about 3:45pm and we arrived home just after 4:00pm.
As it is our wedding anniversary, we planned to have dinner at our 'club', but as we were so tired, we postponed dinner until tomorrow night.
Dinner was pizza slices, very YUMMA. Followed by an early night.
The weather today was cloudy with a moderate breeze.
Tomorrow, we are having a belated dinner at our club.
No Photos, I forgot to take my camera, I took 2 spare camera batteries, but no camera.
- Weather: A mild night, 14.6° at 6:10am and reached a sunny 24.8°.
- Wind: 7 - 33kph South Easterly.
Today, apart from a ride, nothing is planned.
It was a milder night, I only used 2 blankets and we both slept very well, I awoke about 6:30am and laid in bed listening to Macca on the radio. Marg awoke about 7am and we watched 'Weekend Sunrise', I got up and was about to go riding when Luke rang us and said that he was riding his motorbike over to see us, SO I stayed home and waited for him, his beautiful green Kawasaki appeared and we chatted for over an hour, before he left, as he had to be home by 9:30am to go shopping with his family.
When Lukey left, I changed into 'Cycleman' and went riding over to Surfers then to the Spit, where I watched the skin diver try and spear the fish, while I was there, he had not caught any. I could see the fish from the rock that I was sitting on. I left the Spit and headed back past our camp on my way to the Runaway Bay marina which was today's turnaround point and then headed back to camp. As I was passing Labrador, I saw the 'Cops on Patrol' in their quad buggy, driving along the beach heading south. I must admit, that I am impressed with their presence. I have ridden 11 times on the Gold Coast and I have seen the cops on 5 different occassions at 5 different locations, which is great.
We had lunch and the drove over to South Park to have a coffee and buy some more beer, as there is a drunk in our camp. Bloody Marg.
About 4:00pm, we drove over to our club (Southport Workers) for our day late anniversary dinner. I sat in the lounge writing this and having a chilled refresher or two, while Marg played the pokies. We met up about 5:30pm for dinner. For something different, Marg had garlic prawns and I had a mixed grill. It was very YUMMA.
Back at camp, we watched last night's Big Brother.
The weather today was brilliant, sunny with a light breeze.
Tomorrow, apart from a ride, nothing is planned.
Today's weather photo. Max was 24.8°.
