Day 118 - Enjoying ourselves at Broadwater.

Today, apart from a ride, Marg wanted to visit 2 more bridal shops, she is still looking for a dress to wear to Lukey's wedding next year. I see this will be another riveting time for me sitting in the car while Marg looks at dresses.

It was another mild night, I only used 2 blankets and we both slept very well, we both awoke about 6:00am and laid in bed watching Sunrise, I got up about 6:30am and went on the net. Marg got up a bit later, we had brekky and I went riding over to Surfers then to the Spit, nothing startling at the Spit, just a beautiful view. I left the Spit and headed back past our camp on my way to Angler's Paradise (today's turnaround point) and then headed back to Cafe Rockpool at the Broadwater Parklands for a coffee then headed back to camp.

We had lunch and now the fun and excitement starts for me, we went looking for a dress. First port of call was Trudie Fischer in Southport. I parked out the front while Marg went inside, she left her wedding shoes and purse with me, I digress for a moment, Marg has her wedding shoes bought through Amazon and they look very nice, her wedding attire currently stands at Shoes, undies and bra and maybe I can do a bit of body painting if she can't find a dress. Back to the fun and excitement, if there was anything worth buying, she would come out and take her shoes in. I sat in the mighty Navara and watched people enter the furniture shop opposite, that shop had 6 customers while Trudie's shop had Marg and some other 'old' lady. It must have been 30 minutes or more and still no sight of Marg, I was sick of watching the action, so I listened to 92.5 Gold FM and closed my eyes. What seemed hours or even longer, the shop door opens and Marg walks out and says "I have bought a dress". You bloody ripper, no more being bored shitless waiting around like a stale beer of piss while Marg looks at dresses. This is what happened, this shop had heaps of clothes and they ALSO MAKE CLOTHES, guess what they are making Marg a dress, so they measured her, they also had shoes to try on, she Marg has ordered a dress which should be ready in 2 weeks for $219. I can't believe the price and we will wait and see what she gets, but so far so good.

Back at camp, we walked along the beach through the shallows to see George and his mates but they weren't in their normal place, so we walked back to camp. About 4:30pm I watered the instant truf that had been laid on our site. It is looking good.

Dinner was Quiche Lorraine which was very YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.

The weather today was brilliant, sunny with a light breeze.

Tomorrow is Bingo day.

Today's magnificent sunrise.

How beautiful is that?

Day 119 - 6 Bloody 6 that's all I needed.

Today was Bingo day at one of our clubs "The Southport Sharks", apart from a ride.

It was another mild night, I only used 2 blankets and Marg slept very well, but I got a bloody cramp in my left calf and nearly died, I was in absolute agony. After doing a "Lazarus" I finally got rid of the cramp and went back to sleep, awaking about 6:30am, so we watched "Sunrise". We had brekky and got ourselves organised and left at 8:30am, we arrived at "The Sharks" a couple of minutes later.

Last week at Bingo we won a $8 voucher to be used this week, so today we bought 4 sets of jackpots instead of our usual 2. All week, Marg and I have been practising yelling out Bingo, so we were raring to go from the first game. Eyes down at 9:30am, the first game was $100, it started and after about 40 calls, I needed just one number "BLOODY 6", the bingo lady called at least 10 numbers, none of them were "BLOODY 6" before some other old fart called bingo, so close yet so far. In the following 24 games, I didn't get near winning and Marg didn't either, but it is still fun. Next week, we will be back and I will win. Hopefully.

After bingo, we drove to South Park for a coffee at Michels followed by some shopping at Woollies. Back at camp we had lunch and then I went riding, while Marg did more skin polishing. I did my normal ride which is down to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach, take a photo or two then ride back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path, I haven't spotted any more snakes since the baby brown last week. At the end of the Spit, I took a photo of my friend (a non breeding Lesser Crested Tern), then I spotted something splashing in the distance, and took some photos and sure enough, it was a whale. While I sat at the end of the Spit, I noticed a school of fish about 20 meters off the rocks, it was amazing. I left the Spit and headed to Angler's Paradise (today's turnaround point) where I ate my banana. On the way back to camp, I came across a lovely catamaran that has moored about 50 meters offshore and appears to be there for the night. Just off Labrador I saw a flock of hundreds of 'Little Black Shags' in a fish feeding frenzy.

Arrived back at camp about 4pm, Marg was having a nanna nap, so I went and showered and spent some time on the internet.

Dinner was Meat pies which were YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.

The weather today was brilliant, sunny with a moderate breeze.

Tomorrow apart from riding, nothing else is planned.

Day 120 - Happy 7th Birthday, Mont

It was a cold night, my sleepingbag made an appearance, and I was warm as toast, we both slept very well.
I went riding about 8am when it was bloody cold about 11°, I was about 1 kilometer from camp, when I realised that I forgot to bring my camera. I thought "bugger it" I will get it when I come past to go to Angler's Paradise. I did my normal ride, down to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach, then rode back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path. The council is dredging the seaway and the surplus sand and water has covered the coastal path about a kilometer from the Spit, so I back pedalled to a track which led to Seaworld Drive and then rode to the Spit. At the end of the Spit, there was nothing that caught my attention. I left the Spit and headed to Angler's Paradise (today's turnaround point) where I ate my bananas. Arriving back at camp about 10am, I showered and then Marg and I walked upto Australia Fair for a coffee and buy a card and wrapping paper for Mont's pressies. While there, Marg made an appointment for tomorrow to have her nails done. We walked back to camp and had lunch.

During the afternoon, Marg did some more skin polishing, while I washed the fiver, starting at the back, up the right hand side, the front and back to the start of the annex. It looks good.
We left camp at 4:20pm and drove over to Mont's home to give her pressies, she loved them. We are going out for dinner with all the families on Saturday night.
Dinner was beef schnitzels with vegies, absolutely YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.

The weather today was sunny with a moderate breeze.

Tomorrow Marg has her nails appointment, while I go riding.

No photos today.

Day 121 - Enjoying ourselves at Broadwater.

This morning Marg had a nail appointment at 10am and then I would go riding.

It was a cold night, my sleepingbag made me warm as toast, we both slept very well.
We awoke about 7am, and laid in bed watching Sunrise, eventually getting up, had brekky and got organised. About 9:45am I drove Marg over to Australian Fair for her nail appointment, when her nails are finished, she was going to walk to our club (Southport Workers) to play the pokies. I drove back to camp and went riding, this time, I remembered to take my camera. As Marg was away for 3 hours minimum I did a longer ride than normal. Started off down to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach and took today's weather photo, then rode back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path, it was still flooded near the Spit, So I back pedalled to a track which led to Seaworld Drive and then rode to the Spit. At the end of the Spit, there were 2 skin divers that were pissing off a fisherman by swimming under his line so scaring off the fish. I left the Spit and headed towards Angler's Paradise, stopping at Cafe Rockpool for a coffee, then headed to Runaway Bay Marine, when I got there, I decided to ride further northward to James Cook Esplanade, Paradise Point (today's turnaround point). On the way back to camp, I stopped at Angler's Paradise where I ate my bananas. I got back to camp around 1:30pm, was showered and changed when Marg walked in. She had won at the pokies so we were both happy. Later in the day, I watered our site's lawn, it is looking better.

Dinner was curry with rice which was YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.

The weather today was sunny with a moderate breeze.

Tomorrow we are walking to Aus Fair to do some food shopping and I hope to go riding.

This guy just glided past our site early morning.

Day 122 - Enjoying ourselves at Broadwater.

This morning we voted and then I went riding, actually, I rode then we voted. .

It was another cold night, my sleepingbag made me warm as toast, we both slept very well.
We awoke about 6:30am, and laid in bed watching Sunrise, eventually getting up, had brekky and got organised. About 8:30am I went riding, feeling a tad under the weather I have another sniffle and Marg thinks that she has manflu. Anyway, I disgressed again, I rode to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach and took today's weather photo, then rode back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path, it was still flooded near the Spit, now the council has placed "Water over road" signs there, so I back pedalled to a track which led to Seaworld Drive and then rode to the Spit. As I rode to the end of the Spit, an overseas couple queried my ringing the bell and saying "passing" I politely told them that it was a shared path. I left the Spit and headed to Marina Mirage and the jetty to check which boats are in port. Naturally, they are moored at the jetty that the public cannot access. I have discovered that the white yacht is Eclipse and is for sale at EUR5.5M. I headed back to camp, but stopping at Cafe Rockpool for a coffee.

After I showered, Marg and I drove to the Southport Community Centre to cast our vote. We fluked a parking stop out the front, I put in $2 which gave us 1.5 hours parking, our voting adventure was all done in probably 5 minutes. We then headed to South Park for a coffee at Michels and some food shopping. On the way back to camp, we stopped at Bunnings for a new Jimmy Barnes (cold chisel) hehhehehehe, as I left our cold chisel at Shazza place in the Hinterland.
Marg still feels a tad second rate, so she had a long nanna nap while I put on my headphones and watched the first two episodes of the TV series The Americans, it has sucked me in.

Dinner was McCain's Pizza slices which were YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.

The weather today was sunny with a moderate breeze.

Tomorrow I hope to go riding.

Today's weather photo. Max was 23.0°.

Day 123 - Enjoying ourselves at Broadwater.

This morning I went riding and then later on we went to Surfers for dinner..

It was another mild night, my sleepingbag was a tad to warm, so I changed down to 2 blankets, we both slept very well.
We awoke about 7:00am, and laid in bed watching Weekend Sunrise, eventually getting up, had brekky and got organised. About 8:30am I went riding, still feeling a tad under the weather I have a sniffle and Marg thinks that she still has manflu. Anyway, I disgressed again, I rode to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach and took today's weather photo, then rode back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path, it was still flooded near the Spit, so I back pedalled to a track which led to Seaworld Drive and then rode to the Spit. When I got to the end of the Spit, there were about 10 Asian Tourists taking photos including my bike and me. I don't know what their friends back home would think of me. I left the Spit and headed to Anglers Paradise and then back to camp.

About 3pm, Luke picked us up and drove us to Mont's other grandma. We stayed there for a couple of hours chatting, before having dinner at one of the restaurants on the esplanade. Lukey and I had parma while the women had garlic prawns and Mont had kid's fish n chips. It was another great night. Luke drove us back to camp, because of the lack of parking, we didn't drive, while Luke had organised a parking spot at grandma's apartment.

The weather today was sunny with a moderate breeze.

Tomorrow we hope to meet with Jay and Bec.

Today is dad's 83rd birthday, I rang dad but for the last 5 years Mum and Dad have been holidaying on the Gold Coast during his birthday, so we have always been face to face.It just not the same on the phone.

This morning we met Jay and Bec at Helensvale and then I went riding while Marg is skin polishing her gems.

It was another mild night, my sleepingbag was a tad too warm, so I changed down to 2 blankets, we both slept very well.
We awoke about 7:00am, and laid in bed watching Weekend Sunrise, eventually getting up, had brekky and got organised. About 9:30am we drove over to Helensvale Shopping Centre, where we met Jay and Bec for a coffee and a chat. It was great seeing them. Back at camp we had lunch and then I went riding to my normal route. A total of 35.58kms.
