Today was Bingo day at one of our clubs "The Southport Sharks", apart from a ride.
It was another mild night, I only used 2 blankets and Marg slept very well, but I got a bloody cramp in my left calf and nearly died, I was in absolute agony. After doing a "Lazarus" I finally got rid of the cramp and went back to sleep, awaking about 6:30am, so we watched "Sunrise". We had brekky and got ourselves organised and left at 8:30am, we arrived at "The Sharks" a couple of minutes later.
Last week at Bingo we won a $8 voucher to be used this week, so today we bought 4 sets of jackpots instead of our usual 2. All week, Marg and I have been practising yelling out Bingo, so we were raring to go from the first game. Eyes down at 9:30am, the first game was $100, it started and after about 40 calls, I needed just one number
"BLOODY 6", the bingo lady called at least 10 numbers, none of them were
"BLOODY 6" before some other old fart called bingo, so close yet so far. In the following 24 games, I didn't get near winning and Marg didn't either, but it is still fun. Next week, we will be back and I will win. Hopefully.
After bingo, we drove to South Park for a coffee at Michels followed by some shopping at Woollies. Back at camp we had lunch and then I went riding, while Marg did more skin polishing. I did my normal ride which is down to Surfers, stopped on the esplanade protruding out over the beach, take a photo or two then ride back along the shared path and off to the Spit along the coastal gravel path, I haven't spotted any more snakes since the baby brown last week. At the end of the Spit, I took a photo of my friend (
a non breeding Lesser Crested Tern), then I spotted something splashing in the distance, and took some photos and sure enough, it was a whale. While I sat at the end of the Spit, I noticed a school of fish about 20 meters off the rocks, it was amazing. I left the Spit and headed to Angler's Paradise (today's turnaround point) where I ate my banana. On the way back to camp, I came across a lovely catamaran that has moored about 50 meters offshore and appears to be there for the night. Just off Labrador I saw a flock of hundreds of '
Little Black Shags' in
a fish feeding frenzy.
Arrived back at camp about 4pm, Marg was having a nanna nap, so I went and showered and spent some time on the internet.
Dinner was Meat pies which were YUMMA, followed by watching Big Brother.
The weather today was brilliant, sunny with a moderate breeze.
Tomorrow apart from riding, nothing else is planned.
