Home to Turnaround Pt down to Surfers via GC600 Park to Surfers to The Spit (both ends - twice) then back through GC600 Park back to Cafe Rockpool and finally back Home about 50+kms.
Today's highlight: Another magic day.
As I haven't ridden for nearly a month due to my Doctor telling me not too, due to having biopsies taken from my hand. I decided on only a short ride to the Spit.
I left home about 8:18am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was slowing building from the East. The Broadwater was calm.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands over the Sundale Bridge and turned left and rode past the Super Yacht jetty, through the Southport YC, along the jetties at Marina Mirage and then around the edge of the Seaworld carpark, continuing along the shared path to The Spit.
Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my apple, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos. During my lap, my friendly magpie attacked me once. No damage to me, as I am prepared for their attacks.
I left The Spit, and continued along the Federation Walk, through the Southport Yacht carpark, beside the Super yacht jetty. Over the Sundale Bridge and continued homeward, giving a lap of 'our' caravan park a miss.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.
9:55am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: Another magic sunny day.
As it was blowing like buggery and very warm, I decided on 1 lap of the Spits, 1 lap of MacIntosh Island and not ride to Surfers.
I left home about 8:03am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was already blowing from the North West. The Broadwater was choppy.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap.
Took photos of the GC Supercars setting up for their 25th October round.
Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then turned left along the Shared Path, heading towards The Spit.
Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos. During my lap, my friendly magpie attacked me once. No damage to me, as I am prepared for their attacks.
I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive. Rode through Muriel Henchman park, which is an absolute mess, as the workers are expanding the carpark etc and everything has been bulldozed. Did a lap of the Seaworld carpark. The Seaworld carpark was 1/2 FULL as the school holidays have ended. Then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued through the Southport Yacht carpark, beside the Super yacht jetty. The Google co-founder Sergey Brin's 73m Superyacht "Dragonfly" was moored there.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Pepsi.
I continued homeward, giving a lap of 'our' caravan park a miss.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

Today's highlight: Danny dolphin at Fisherman's Co-Op plus the Muriel Henchman Park has been bulldozed and is being expanded.
I left home at 8:36am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. I wasn't planning to ride but it was such a nice day, I had to go for a ride. The breeze was calm and slowly building from the North East. The Broadwater was calm.
As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands. The Gold Coast show starts tomorrow and is located in the Parklands, naturally, there was activity everywhere. Did a lap of MacIntosh Is. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos. They are preparing for the Springtime Festival.
Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.
I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive. I couldn't believe the amount of work the council had done at the Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark. The Seaworld carpark was less than half full. As I approached the Fisherman's Co-Op, there was a couple taking photos and I just caught a glimpse of Danny dolphin about 6 feet from the jetty. I immediately stopped and got my phone out to photo him. By the time I was ready he was chasing a school of fish, BUT I managed a couple of photos.
Rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Feeling a tad tired I headed directly homeward, via the Southport YC and the Super Berth, where "Sassafras' is stilled moored, the crew were on deck, cleaning it, so I spoke to them. The yacht is leaving on Saturday for Airlie Beach.
I didn't stop at Cafe Rockpool, because with everyone setting up for the Gold Coast show, there were people everywhere and being lunchtime, the queue was very big, so I gave it a miss.
I continued homeward, gave a lap of 'our' caravan park, a miss as well.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.
10:43am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: was just the joy of riding.
We are staying at Dicky Beach Family Holiday Park.
I left home at 9:00am, after going for a coffee over the road from the Caravan Park, old habits are hard to change.
The breeze was blowing from the South. The ocean was a mass of chop with only a few surfers in protected areas.
I left the Caravan park and headed along the shared path and sometimes along the quiet back streets parallel to the beach. I rode through the highrises being built in the BIG PADDOCK.
Followed the old shared paths and some new ones all the way to the Lighthouse. I am never in a hurry, and being a weekday, the shared paths were nearly deserted compared to yesterday's ride. I looked around and took in the scenery. Arrived at the Lighthouse, down to the entrance of the Mooloolah River, headed homeward along the shared paths. I rode the shared paths, as they are nicer.
2 kiwi lady riders asked me for directions, so we stopped and chatted.
As usual, I stopped to take photos.
Arrived back at our cabin. Another great ride.
Today's highlight: was nearly riding over a 5ft Eastern Brown snake. As he saw me, he sprinted to the edge of the shared path and disappeared into the scrub. I didn'tt stop either.

As we sold our Fiver in 2021, we are staying in a cabin opposite our 'old' site. It is a magnificent area, hence why we are back here for a 'holiday'. I think Retirees haver holidays OR is that just our normal life.
