Today's highlight: Another magic COOL cloudy day, with some sunny breaks. Cool before warming up.

I left home at 8:03am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was a light, building North Westly. The Broadwater was calm.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Pepsi and a ham and cheese toastie. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 180 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. (Same number as Wednesday)

Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Pepsi and a ham and cheese toastie. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 180 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

The rain started while I was starting my nd lap of the Spits. It was light with heavy drops.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Pepsi and a ham and cheese toastie. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 140 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

Stopped at Charis Seafood and took a photo of George and his mates, waiting to be fed by the Charis staff. They fed them fish leftovers daily at 1:00pm. Hence why all the Pelicans are always hanging around.

I left home at 5:40am, as I woke at 5:30am and thought bugger it, I am going riding now. The pre sunrise was stunning. The breeze was a very light variable. The Broadwater was calm.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Pepsi and a bacon and egg muffin. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 113 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. An especially great, enjoyable ride.

I left home at 7:48am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was blowing like buggery from the East South East. The Broadwater had a slight chop.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands and over the Sundale Bridge, turned left and rode through the Southport Yacht Club carpark, continued along the jetties of Marina Mirage, past Peter's Fish n Chips, stopped in the Seaworld carpark and took a photo, then rode the boundary of the carpark, arrived at Muriel Henchman carpark, rode the boundary, then along the Shared path that runs parallel to Seaworld Drive, arriving at Doug Jennings park located at The Spit.

Run 3 laps of both Spits, took photos and ate my banana then headed back along the Shared path to Sundale Bridge before stopping at Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a ham and chees toastie and a Pepsi. It was YUMMA.

Due to the warm weather, I am still a bit knackered, so I decided to ride a shorter distance, so I gave Surfers and a few other areas amiss.
I left home at 7:52am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was slowly building from the South East. The Broadwater was calm.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then headed North along the Shared Path and the the Federation Walk to The Spit. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos and then did another lap of each Spit, before heading homewards via the Yacht Club, giving the 2nd lap of MacIntosh Is amiss.

At the Yacht Club's superyacht jetty, Clive Palmer's $40m little tinny has done a runner, probably out fishing in the Broadwater.... maybe not.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped, and bought a ham and cheese toastie and a pepsi. It was YUMMA.

After Monday's ride and feeling absolutely rooted, I decided to ride a shorter distance, so I gave Surfers and 1 lap of the Spits,and a few other areas amiss.
I left home at 8:23am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was slowly building from the North West. The Broadwater was calm.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then headed North along the Shared Path and the the Federation Walk to The Spit. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then headed homewards via the Yacht Club, giving the 2nd lap of MacIntosh Is amiss.

At the Yacht Club's superyacht jetty was Clive Palmer's $40m little tinny, so I took a photo or two. Clive was not in sight.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped, and bought a ham and cheese toastie and a pepsi. It was YUMMA.

Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos. Rain had stopped, so took off my wet weather jacket.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits. Spoke to a couple who were 1st time visitors to The Spit. He was in a wheelchair and we chatted for a good 10 minutes.

Today's highlight: was the joy of riding.

I left home at 7:38am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was slowly building from the East. The Broadwater had a slight chop.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped, but there weren't any spare seats, so I kept going. Did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 216 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.

Today's highlight: was the number of people everywhere. It must be school holidays.

I left home at 7:49am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was bugger all and slowly building from the North East and very warm. I only rode 45kms, as I was feeling tired and hot and gave the 2nd lap of the Spits amiss and also the ride through 'our' caravan park. The Broadwater had slight chop.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands, past the makeshift memorial to the 4 Helicopter deaths at Seaworld. Continued to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos. Naturally, there were people everywhere.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode past Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark. I could not believe that ALL the carparks at Seaworld including the grass areas were FULL to the brim and it was only 10:15am. Unreal. Rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty and closed. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a double scoop of choccy ice cream. It was YUMMA.

I couldn't be stuffed riding a lap of 'our' caravan park, SO I didn't.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable, bit tired ride. I must be getting old... Shit, that's right, I am 70yo.

Today's highlight: was the lack of younger people out and about. Maybe they got pissed.

I left home at 6:02am, after a quick night watching the fireworks in a brage moored 100meters directly out the front of our joint. The breeze was slowlwy building from the South East. The Broadwater had slight chop.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos. the weather looked like it was going to 'piss' down at any moment, but it stayed dry for my whole ride.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
At MacIntosh Island, I saw Nige the gardener feeding the Peacocks, so I stopped and we chatted for 15 minutes, Nige rides a beautiful motorbike. He could easily pass as a 'bikie'.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a coffee and ham and cheese toastie. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 227 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. Only 3 empty sites, the park was 'alive'.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.

Today's highlight: was the joy of riding.

Today's lowlight: it was blowing like buggery from the South East, so riding South was a bugger, riding North was magic.

I left home at 8:17am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was bloody awful, gusting to 52kph. No wonder I only rode 44kms, as I was buggered and gave the Narrowneck and 2nd lap of GC500 Park amiss. The Broadwater is surrounded by land, even when blowing like it was today, at its worst, it is a slight chop.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap.
Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path to Surfers. The council is setting up for New Year's Eve so my normal photo area was fenced off.


Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty, continuing directly to Cafe Rockpool, passing through the Southport Yacht Club. Stopped and ordered a ham and cheese toastie and a coffee. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 210 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. As I past the Aqua building the wind hit me. One second it was calm, next it was quite windy.
Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos. the weather looked like it was going to 'piss' dowm at any moment, but it stayed dry for my whole ride.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.

Today's lowlight: it was blowing like buggery from the South (gusting to 72kph, that is unreal), so riding South was a bugger, riding North was magic.

I left home at 8:33am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was bloody awful, gusting to 72kph. No wonder I only rode 31kms, as it was blowing like buggery. I decided to ride only to The Spit and home, giving Surfers, MacIntosh Is and Narrowneck amiss.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands over Sundale Bridge then turned left and headed towards the Spit along the shared path.
My logic was to ride with the wind along the Shared Path and from the Spit, ride the Federation Walk, hopefully, protected by the trees/vegetation from the wind.

So over the Sundale Bridge, turned left and then along the Shared Path, through the Seaworld carpark, then through the Muriel Henchman Park and off to The Spit.


The wind was unreal, as I rode along the Seaway path to the end of the Spit, the sand was the problem, being blown at full force against your skin and it stung. Stopped at the end and was the only human at the end, no one else walked or rode to the end. It was the wind and the spray. Consequently, I couldn't eat my banana, due to the weather conditions. Stopped and took my photos, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos.

I left The Spit, and rode along the Federation Walk, hoping to be protected from the wind. I was.
Headed directly to Cafe Rockpool, passing the Southport Yacht Club. Stopped and ordered a ham and cheese toastie and a coffee. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, as I was stuffed, I gave the lap of 'our' caravan park amiss.

Arrived at home.

Stopped and took my photos and didn't eat my banana, as the end of The Spit was covered in spray, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode directly to Cafe Rockpool, passing the Southport Yacht Club. Stopped and ordered a ham and cheese toastie and a coffee. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, as I was stuffed, I gave the lap of 'our' caravan park amiss.

While there, I watch a Golden Retriever swimming in the Seaway, it was enjoying life to the max.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap.
The Supercar areas are now completely removed. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take the Schoolies's area. Strange, I didn't see any.
At Surfers I poked my nose into some of the Schoolies' fenced off areas.

Checked out the progress of packing up after the Supercar round. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to Surfers, to take my weather photos.
At Surfers with the Schoolies starting tonight, the beach area approx 400meters North and South of Cavil Ave is fenced off, for schoolies use only.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.
Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Rum and Raisin ice cream as it was warm, but not as HOT as yesterday and I also felt like an ice cream. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 180 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.

I left home at 7:44am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was light for the whole ride, started off a North through to West. The Broadwater had slight chop.

As I rode yesterday, I thought a short ish ride would be a goer today.
Started as usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands then headed past Southport Yacht Club, along the shared path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, rode through Muriel Henchman park, then headed direct to the end of The Spit/Seawall.
Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit and rode along the Federation Walk. Feeling good, I headed for MacIntosh Island, did a lap.

Headed to Cafe Rockpool. Stopped and ordered a Rum and Raisin ice cream as it was bloody HOT. It was YUMMA.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 148 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. There were a group of people on the Spit's Shared Path, as I approached them, I noticed that there were 4 Supercar Drivers (Anton De Pasquale, Todd Hazelwood, Andre Heimgartner, and Jack Smith) there with cameramen, reporters etc. I stopped and took some photos. I Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana. Rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then back to the end of the Seaway/Spit, the drivers were now at the end, so I asked Anton for a photo, he agreed.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then headed directly to Cafe Rockpool.
At Cafe Rockpool, I stopped and ordered a ham and cheese toastie with a coffee. It was YUMMA.

Today the weather is meant to be absolute crap. The various forecasts have predicted about 100mm, 200mm, or 300mm for the next 24hours. So I am sitting at home, it isn't raining and I thought "Bugger it, I am going stir crazy at home. I am going for a ride. If it rains... Stiff.." I left home at 9:05am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze was quite strong from the East. The Broadwater was smooth, being protected by the land BUT the Coral Sea was rough as.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a half lap, as it is fenced off for the Supercars next weekend.

I continued homeward, did a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 148 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

Arrived at home. Another enjoyable ride.

Today's highlight: was the joy of being back riding.
Also seeing the GC Supercars preparations.

I left home at 7:43am, after going for a coffee and some shopping at Coles Lab Park. The breeze started off light and slowly building from the South East. The Broadwater was smooth.

As usual, I rode Northward, to my Lands End turnaround point. Continued through the Broadwater Parklands to MacIntosh Is, did a lap.
Checked out the progress of setting up for the Supercar round. Over the Bridge at Narrowneck then along the Shared Path, to my normal spot at Surfers, to take my weather photos.

Headed off towards The Seaway/Spit, via the Federation Walk. Continued riding to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my museli bar, then rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then did another lap to both Spits.

I left The Spit, and continued along the Shared Path that runs beside Seaworld Drive, rode through Muriel Henchman park, did a lap of the Seaworld carpark, then rode around Marina Mirage, past Helitours which is on the jetty. Continued back to MacIntosh Island, did another lap.

Today's lowlight: was it is school holidays and a QLD Public Holiday, consequently, the shared paths are now chockers.

Being a Public Holiday, I didn't know if my coffee shop would be open at 7am or 9am, so I thought stuff it, I will go riding 'first thing'. I left home at 6:37am, the breeze started off light and slowly building from the South. The Broadwater was smooth.
