Day 103 - Wednesday 20th July 2016.

'Free' Bingo - Dicky Day 14.

We both slept well. As we decided to go to the 'free' Bingo today, I set the alarm to 7am. We were awake before then and we both got up, and got organised and left at 8:20am.
We arrived at Club Central Caloundra just before 8;30am for a 9:30am start. We walked in, selected a table that was free, was given a book of 10 bingo games each and we paid $8 for 4 jackpot games. As it turns out, it tooks us less than 5 minutes to get organised, so we had 55 minutes to wait, SO we read the Herald Sun on our iPads. We enjoyed ourselves that much that we will come back next Wednesday for the 'free' Bingo. By the way, we didn't win a cent.
On our way back to camp, we drove over to Currimundi Markets and had a coffee and donuts at Donut King, before doing a small food shop at Woollies.

After I had lunch, I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:10pm and headed North towards Mooloolaba. I rode my normal BIG route today. I took my riding camera with me. As I was riding down the Hill from the Lighthouse carpark, I noticed a beautiful magpie sitting on the wooden fence. He was jet black with brilliant white no gray bits. As I approached, he/she flew away, within 10 seconds there was a thud on my helmet and 'maggie' flew off. Within the next 30 seconds there were 2 attempts to strike me but it missed. I continued on my way back to camp and stopped at the Dicky Beach bakery for a coffee before arriving home at 3:12pm after 47.7kms.

Marg was in the middle of her nanna nap, so I didn't wake her, I went and showered, came back and buggered about on my laptop.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 48kms gives me a total of 630kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 12th ride at Dicky for a total of 509kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,829kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 'attack' brings it to a total of 4 strikes and 2 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

Dinner was Marg's famous homemade sausage rolls, they were very yumma.

PS: I have finished the kilo of Strawberries that I bought yesterday. They were also very yumma.

Tomorrow nothing is planned, so a ride and a beach walk will probably be on the cards.

12:16pm - At Coondibah Creek.

1:44pm - Today's weather photo.

1:49pm - The dredge is still around.

1:56pm - I stalked the Pilot boat.

1:56pm - I stalked the Pilot boat.

1:56pm - I stalked the Pilot boat.

Day 104 - Thursday 21st July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding at Dicky - Dicky Day 15.

We both slept well. Marg woke and got up about 6:15am, I felt her get up and thought I would get up in a minute. I looked at the clock and it was 7:12am, I must have dozed off. Marg was on her laptop, SO when I got up I turned on "Kochie".
We had brekky and I left Marg doing her thing as I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:06am and headed North towards Mooloolaba. I rode my normal BIG route today. At the Lighthouse carpark, there was no sign of 'friendly feathered birdie'. On my second ride to the Lighthouse carpark, I rode to the top and took my daily weather photo, before I rolled down the Hill to the Spit. When I got to the end of the Spit, there were 3 backpackers doing 'bombs' off the rocks. I couldn't take a photo as the girl was in a bikini but the 2 boys were in boardshorts and rashie. I don't take photos of girls in bikinis as I think, they may think that I am a deviant. I am. The dredge was in the river having the 'borer' fixed. I ate my 2 bananas then started my ride back to camp, arriving at 10:51am after 46.5kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 677kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 13th ride at Dicky for a total of 556kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,876kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

After I showered, Marg and I walked over to the Dicky Beach Bakery and sat in the shade and watched the world go by, while we drank our coffees and read the Herald Sun on our iPads. When we finished, we dropped our iPads back at camp and then walked along the beach heading south towards Caloundra. We watched a bulldozer 'push' sand along the beach at Tooway creek. After a few minutes watching the bulldozer, we sat on the rocks and just watched the waves crash over the rocks.

For the rest of the arvo, Marg managed a nanna nap, while I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was Barra and chips from Clancy's beachside takeaway. They were yumma.

Tomorrow nothing is planned, so a ride and a beach walk will probably be on the cards.

9:48am - Today's weather photo.

9:50am - The Old Man and the Sea.

9:59am - Fixing the dredge.

12:10pm - Looking over the rocks towards Caloundra.

12:12pm - Beautiful rock bandings.

12:17pm - The bulldozer at Tooway Creek.

12:22pm - Heading back to camp. Beautiful scenery.

Day 105 - Friday 22nd July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding at Dicky - Dicky Day 16.

The weather today was absolutely sensational.

We both slept well. Again Marg woke up and got up before me. When I woke up, Marg turned on TV and watched "Kochie".
We had brekky and I left Marg doing her thing as I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 7:57am.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. Being attacked 6 times (2 lots of 3) by my friendly feathered birdie at the Lighthouse carpark.
2. Photographing my friendly feathered birdie, he was tired after attacking me.
3. 2 of the 3 'backpackers' from yesterday were back at The Spit swimmimg again. Shock horror, I spoke to them and they are not 'backpackers', they live in Mooloolaba and have just sold their cleaning business and are having a 3 month break. SO Good on them.
4. Marg texted me to say that she was off to the Pokies, SO I stopped at Rose's Bakery for a coffee. BTW, Marg lost.
I arrived home at 11:06am after 47.2kms.

This is a breakdown of my normal bike route from Dicky Beach to Point Cartwright Lighthouse/The Spit and return.

  • Sector 1 - 8.7kms - Dicky Beach to Oceanside
  • Sector 2 - 7.0kms - Oceanside to Lighthouse carpark
  • Sector 3 - 7.0kms - Lighthouse carpark back to Oceanside
  • Sector 4 - 7.1kms - Oceanside back to Lighthouse
  • Sector 5 - 8.3kms - Lighthouse back to Oceanside via The Spit/Mouth of the Mooloolaba river.
  • Sector 6 - 8.7kms - Oceanside to Dicky Beach
A total of 46.8kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 724kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 14th ride at Dicky for a total of 603kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,923kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 6 'attacks' brings it to a total of 10 strikes and 2 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

After I showered, Marg was back from The Pokies, SO we got organised and drove over to Currimundi markets and had coffee and donuts at Donut King, before buying bananas at Woollies. I had run out of bananas, there's nothing worse.
Marg walked into the Reject Shop and nearly had a heart attack. The 'chunky' balls of wool that she wanted were there, so she bought 5 balls. She is rather happy.

Back at camp, we went for a walk along the beach. It was a beautiful day. We sat on the rocks and as we looked along the shore, we noticed a wedding. For a moment, we thought that we would 'photobomb' the wedding photos BUT thought better of it (we were on the rocks right opposite the wedding, so any photos taken with the sea in the background would have Marg and I in their photos. At least I was wearing my floral shirt). The rest of the arvo, Marg managed a nanna nap, while I watched the V8s practice at Willowbank for this weekends meeting. Lowndesy was 2nd fastest. Go Lowndesy.

Dinner was leftovers of Marg's homemade sausage rolls. They were yumma.

Tomorrow we are at Aldi's at 8am to buy some kids' books then off to the Eumundi markets.

8:01am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:03am - A Tesla - Electric Car - unbelieveable.

9:34am - I 'captured' My friendly feathered birdie.

9:36am - Today's weather photo.

9:49am - Just a beautiful view.

9:49am - Mooloolaba in the background.

10:27am - Egor the Egret - probably a Great Egret.

10:30am - George and his mate looking beautiful.

10:58am - Rose's bakery - My coffee shop.

2:04pm - Lady in Blue near the blue sea.

2:10pm - I'm into nice scenery. Here's another.

2:12pm - The wedding.

Day 106 - Saturday 23rd July 2016.

Visited Eumundi Market - Dicky Day 17.

Again, the weather was absolutely sensational.

We both slept well. I had set the alarm for 6:30am, as we wanted to leave at 7:30am to get to Aldis at Kawana Waters.
Marg woke up very early and got up at 5:45am, bloody crazy. I stayed in bed until 6:20am before getting up. We eventually had brekky, showered and left at 7:30am and arrived at Aldi at 7:50am (they open at 8am), there was about 10 other customers waiting. At 8am the doors opened and we found the kids books that Marg wanted to buy for Mase, SO we bought 6 books, then drove to Eumundi Markets. After viewing a number fo stalls, we stopped at 'The Fig Tree' and had a coffee and cake. We managed to see every stall except for 3. I spoke to Adam from Adam Gormley Photography. we bought a beautiful canvas photo of George and his mates from Adam a couple of years ago, SO I just touched base with him. We also managed to find the 'good' fudge shop and after spending $40 we left the Fudge shop. No, we didn't buy the Fudge Shop, BUT their stocks were definitely depleted when we left them. We took our time and drove back to camp via Spotlight, Marg is currently into making 'Dream catchers', SO she needed to buy some items.

We arrived back just before lunchtime, SO we walked over to Rose's Bakery, sat out the front in the shade and had pies and coke for lunch, before heading back to camp for a quiet arvo. As it was windy and HOT, I didn't go riding. I watched the V8s, Lowndesy managed a 3rd this arvo, in a very exciting race. We both managed a nanna nap, which worked out well, as there was over a 2 hour break between Qualifying and the Race, SO what does one do if it is windy and hot. Have a nanna nap. I did. It was good.

Dinner was Mr McCain's pizza slices. They were nice.

After dinner, we walked down to the beach and sat in the dark. I took photos but none turned out, I haven't perfected night photography yet. As we sat there the "Pacific Dawn" sailed by, it was very impressive with all its lights on. My photo was a blur.

Tomorrow we may do a beach walk, coffee and I hope to ride.

A beautiful XY GT parked near us.

2:10pm - We had coffee on one of those tables.

Marg's head - Where is that Fudge stall? We found it.

12:51pm - Having coffee at Rose's Bakery watching the world go bye. Life is tough.

Day 107 - Sunday 24th July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding at Dicky - Dicky Day 18.

Cooler than yesterday BUT was still absolutely sensational.

We both slept well and slept past 7:15am. Back to normal, I woke first at 7:20am and got up and turned on "Weekend Sunrise".
We had brekky and I left Marg doing her thing as I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:16am.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. The main highlight was the magnificent weather. It was just SO beautiful. Check the photos below.
2. Being attacked another 6 times, as I rode up to the Lighthouse carpark, my friendly feathered birdie has 1 strike and 1 miss, then I turned around and rolled down the Hill and he had 3 'piss weak' strikes, then coming back up the Hill, he wasn't anywhere to be see, then on my final roll down the Hill, he re-appeared with 2 strikes and a miss.
I arrived home at 11:07am after 47.0kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 771kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 15th ride at Dicky for a total of 650kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,970kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 6 'attacks' brings it to a total of 16 strikes and 4 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

I showered and we drove over to Donut King at Currrimundi Market for some nice cinnamom donuts and coffee. SHOCK HORROR, the bastards weren't open, SO we did our small food shop at Woollies, then back to camp, packed the shopping away and walked over to Rose's Bakery at Dicky Beach, sat out the front in the shade, had a coffee and mini mud cakes.
Marg managed a nanna nap and I watched the V8s, Lowndesy won race 17. A brilliant race.

Dinner was Marg's 'world famous' steak, mash, gravy and vegies. Naturally it was YUMMA.

Tomorrow we hope to have coffee with my stalker and his wife.

8:23am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:50am - Today's weather photo.

9:51am - more magic views.

9:52am - more magic views.

9:52am - more magic views.

9:52am - more magic views.

9:52am - more magic views.

11:00am - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 108 - Monday 25th July 2016.

Coffee with Mr & Mrs Stalker and their trike - Dicky Day 19.

Nothing happening today until 10:30am ish when Mr & Mrs Stalker and their trike arrive for a coffee and chat.

We both slept well until 7am, when we got up and turned on "Kochie". We did a few loads of washing, had brekky and buggered about until Mr Stalker rang about 10:30am. They were parked opposite Rose's bakery, SO Marg and I walked over and we took over a table out the front in the shade. We had coffees and chatted for quiet awhile, before walking over the road to their trike. It was beautiful, SO naturally, I had to take a photo or two.

After Mr and Mrs Stalker left us, I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:43pm.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. The main highlight was AGAIN the magnificent weather.
2. My friendly feathered birdie didn't have the guts to show up today.
I arrived home at 3:26pm after 46.6kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 818kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 16th ride at Dicky for a total of 697kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,017kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

I showered and then buggered about on my laptop, while Marg was having a nanna nap.

Dinner was Marg's 'world famous' corned beef, cabbage and mash. It was YUMMA.

Tomorrow nothing is planned.

Mr and Mrs Stalker's beautiful Harley Trike.

I like the numberplate.

Just Beautiful.

Mr Stalker who is now my friend.

What a lovely couple.

12:50pm - At Coondibah Creek.

2:15pm - Today's weather photo.

2:26pm - this dude was moored just off the Spit.

Marg's corned beef, cabbage and I made the mash.

Day 109 - Tuesday 26th July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding - Dicky Day 20.

Today was extremely cool and without any sun appearing, it stayed cool all day.

We both slept well until 7:30am, when we got up and turned on "Kochie". We had brekky and buggered about until 10am ish, when we drove to Kawana Waters. My Sony camera is displaying an error E:62;10 and it maybe SD card related, SO I went into JB HiFi and the salesman put a new SD Card in it, BUT to no avail. Thankfully, he didn't charge me as I didn't buy it BUT he did rip it open and tested it in my camera. While I was in JB, Marg went into The Reject Shop. Currently, Marg is making "Dream Catchers", they look nice and Marg enjoys making things, SO we are both happy. We stopped at Michels for a coffee and then did some food shopping at Woollies before heading back to camp.

After we had lunch, Marg was more than happy to continue making her "Dream Catcher". Her first one was approx 8" in diameter, this one is closer to 18" in diameter to caught BIGGER dreams.
So while Marg was busy, I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:24pm.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. The views were still stunning.
2. For the second day in a row, my friendly feathered birdie didn't show.
3. I stopped at Rose's Bakery at 3pm for a coffee.
I arrived home at 3:18pm after 47.1kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 865kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 17th ride at Dicky for a total of 744kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,064kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

I showered and then buggered about on my laptop, while Marg was having a nanna nap.

Marg made cornbeef toasted sangas for Dinner. They were YUMMA.

Tomorrow we have 'FREE' Bingo at Club Central Caloundra. Wish us luck. We need it.

12:33pm - At Coondibah Creek.

2:01pm - Today's weather photo.

2:02pm - another weather photo.

Day 110 - Wednesday 27th July 2016.

"Free" Bingo and Riding - Dicky Day 21.

Similar to yesterday, today was extremely cool and without any sun appearing, it stayed cool all day.

As we were going to "Free" Bingo, I set the alarm for 6:30am and we both slept well until the alarm woke us. We got up, get organised, had brekky and were ready to leave at 8:45am. Last week, we got to Bingo at 8;30am but we were too early, SO we got there just before 9am for eyes down at 9;30am.
We managed to park out the front of the Club Central Caloundra Bowling Club. We bought 4 $2 jackpot cards and were given 2 booklets of 10 games, these were free. Each game was worth $30 and the $2 Jackpot card was worth $1,000 under 55 calls. Marg split a win, SO she got $15. Bloody 49. I only had one number 49 to go to win the $1,000. Did Bloody 49 come out. NO.
A lady a couple of tables away, won it. I took it well.

After Bingo, we drove back to camp and walked over the road to Rose's Bakery and had coffee as we read the Herald Sun on our iPads. Back at camp, we had lunch and while Marg continued making her "Dream Catcher", I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:18pm.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. It's a given - the views are just stunning from the Lighthouse area and the mouth of the Mooloolaba river(aka The Spit).
2. I might be in mourning as it is the third day in a row, that my friendly feathered birdie didn't show.
3. A lowlight was that I was feeling a tad tired and nearly rode just the shorter route, but in the end I did the BIG route.
I arrived home at 3:06pm after 46.2kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 46kms gives me a total of 911kms for July (only 2 more big rides to reach the 1,000kms).
681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 18th ride at Dicky for a total of 790kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,110kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

After showering, I buggered about on my laptop, while Marg was having a nanna nap.

Marg made nachos. They were YUMMA.

Tomorrow nothing is planned, except I need to ride.

12:21pm - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

1:53pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

1:55pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking North West.

2:07pm - This dude was sailing solo. I couldn't find anything about him.

Day 111 - Thursday 28th July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding - Dicky Day 22.

Today was sunny all day, started cold but soon was warm.

Shock, Horror, we didn't wake up until 8:10am. Unbelieveable. We slept like 'logs'. We eventually got up, had brekky and by the time we were organised, it was 10am. Where did that morning go.
Marg needed my assistance with her "Dream Catcher", she needs a metal frame about 18" in diameter, we went to Bunnings to buy some 'coat hangar' wire about 2mm thick. We found it. On the way back to the car, I bought 2 sausages in bread with onions. They were YUMMA. We drove back to camp, walked over the road to Rose's Bakery, had coffees and read the Herald Sun on our iPads. Back at camp, I helped Marg with the wire, we are still unsure whether it will work. We are still in test mode.

After lunch, I left Marg making her "Dream Catcher", I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:24pm.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. It's a given - the views are just stunning from the Lighthouse area and the mouth of the Mooloolaba river(aka The Spit).
2. I didn't see my friendly feathered birdie today, I am starting to worry he may have 'flown the coop'.
I arrived home at 3:25pm after 47.4kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 958kms for July (only 1 more big rides to reach the 1,000kms).
681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 19th ride at Dicky for a total of 837kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,157kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

After showering, I buggered about on my laptop, while Marg was having a nanna nap. I woke Marg at 4:45pm, and we walked over to Reelax at Dicky Beach for our normal Thursday night take away meal.

Marg had Qld fresh Barra, while I had a beef works burger. They were YUMMA.

Tomorrow is our 'normal' Bingo, as in we pay over $50 for the 'fun', plus I need one more BIG ride to pass my 1,000kms for the month. Wish us both luck.

12:30pm - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

1:55pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

1:57pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking North West.

1:57pm - Some divers were just below the lighthouse.

2:01pm - The dredge is still about.

2:04pm - This was interesting, he drove up to the pipes then backed up, turned around and headed off. Very weird.

2:07pm - Looking up the Mooloolaba river towards the Mooloolaba YC.

2:52pm - I don't think that this area will be built on.
It could go "Kaboom".

2:58pm - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 112 - Friday 29th July 2016.

Bingo and Dream Catchers - Dicky Day 23.

Similar to yesterday, today was sunny all day, started cold but soon was warm.

As it is Bingo Day, I set the alarm for 6:30am. We both slept well and were woken by the alarm. We got up, showered, had brekky and got ready for Bingo. We left at 7:50am. Arrived at the Club Central Caloundra (Bowling Club) about 5 minutes later. We were one of the first there and sat at the same table we used in previous Bingos. I brought 2 full sets with 2 full sets of jackpots for $62. I did make myself a coffee and then we got ourselves organised and were ready for the start at 9am. We had heaps of time to spare, so we read the Herald Sun on our iPads. Marg won $20 while I won $20.

Our Bingo summary after our 7th appearances, paid $62 won $40. At Dicky currently losing $44. Our overall winnings is $135.

We are having troubles with making the outside 'ring' (18" diameter) for Marg's dream catcher. Latest plan is pushing 2 pieces of 2mm wire up the inside of 5mm tubing about 1.6 meters long, SO after Bingo, we drove over to Bunnings and bought the 5mm clear vinyl tubing. What an absolute PAIN IN THE ARSE trying to insert both 1.7m long wire up the tubing. After at least 30 minutes of 'quite loud swearing" I managed to do what we wanted and Marg is very happy. SO I am extremely happy.

I was 42kms from breaking the 1,000kms barrier for July. We had lunch then I left Marg making her "Dream Catcher", I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 1:20pm.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. It's a given - the views are just stunning from the Lighthouse area and the mouth of the Mooloolaba river(aka The Spit).
2. Great news: My friendly feathered birdie was back to his best with 3 direct hits and NO misses.
I arrived home at 3:57pm after 47.0kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 1,005kms for July.
681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 20th ride at Dicky for a total of 892kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,204kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 3 'attacks' brings it to a total of 19 strikes and 4 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

After showering, I buggered about on my laptop, while Marg was STILL making her "dream catcher". It is looking good. Lukey rang about 4:30pm and told us that his new car will be ready from tomorrow morning and is there any chance that we could drive to his place on the Gold Coast and mind little Mase while they go and pick it up. I said "No Way". OK. I weakened and said we would be at his place about 9am. Just a 320km round trip. What you do from your kids. They are and will always be my "Little boys", even if they both are over 105kgs and over 6'3".

Tonight we had a scratch meal, Mr Mc Cain's pizza slices. they were nice.

Tomorrow we plan to leave at 7am and drive to the Gold Coast and back.

The below 3 photos are my daily weather photos.
You know the saying "A photo is worth a 1,000 words. No photos OR riding today.

1:26pm - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

2:49pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

2:51pm - Taken from the Lighthouse looking North West.

2:50pm - A few fishos off the lighthouse.

2:51pm - just a nice view.

2:54pm - and another nice view.

Day 113 - Saturday 30th July 2016.

Jodi and Lukey's new car - Dicky Day 24.

Similar to yesterday, today was sunny all day, started cold but soon was warm.

Jodi and Lukey were picking up their new car this morning and asked us to mind the grandkids, which we jumped at.

We set the alarm for 6am and were woken by it. We got up, dressed and at 6:30am we drove the mighty Navara to Helensvale, just north of the Gold Coast. Tom Tom expected us to arrive about 8:25am. We sat on the speed limits (110 or 100kph) and being Saturday the Bruce Hwy flowed beautifully to Brisbane. We did stop for brekky at Maccas Burpengary, then headed over the Gateway and along the M1, getting off at the Helensvale shopping centre, again the traffic flowed beautifully the whole way. As I pulled into the carpark (8:40am), Lukey was on the phone, he had 'stalked' me from Dicky Beach using the Find my Friends app, and asked me to buy some milk, bread and bananas. I did. Marg visited Target and Riot for some beads for her 'Dream Catcher'. She got them and we went to Gloria Jeans and had a coffee.
We arrived at Lukeys at 9:30am and gave the grandkids a big cuddle. I took some photos of their 'old' VX 11 Clubby R8. It was Lukey's first car and he had it for at least 10 years BUT like all good things, it was time to move on. Jodi and Lukey traded it in on a brand new Mazda 3 Maxx. Their car only arrived in Oz last week. They left about 11am to pick up the car and arrived home about 1:30pm. They had smiles from ear to ear. You could say that they were happy. While they were away, we had to put Mase down for his lunch time sleep. He slept for about 1.5 hours, by the time he woke his parents were home.

Just as we were about to leave, Jay rang and asked us to come over to his place. He and Bec live about 3kms from Lukeys, SO we drove over there and stayed for an hour or so and chatted etc. We will be catching up next weekend, as it is Jay's birthday get together. We will go out for a family lunch somewhere.

After leaving Bec and Jays, we only had 160kms back to camp, going from the Gold Coast through Brissy back to Dicky Beach. The traffic didn't flow as well as earlier, we had a built up near the gateway, there was a small crash. We stopped at Maccas again for dinner, just on 5pm, as we couldn't be stuffed to cook anything for dinner.
When we arrived back at camp, we were knackered.

Dinner was Maccas. It was nice.

Tomorrow nothing is plannned.

Lukey's Clubby - It served him well.

Mont and little Mase.

The family saying Goodbye to Clubby.

Here they come, fresh from the showroom.

Day 114 - Sunday 31st July 2016.

Relaxing and Riding - Dicky Day 25.

Similar to yesterday, today was sunny all day, started cold but soon was warm.

I hope that you are sitting down. Now continue reading.

We did not wake until 8:45am. Absolutely Unbelieveable. We were a tad tired from yesterday's great day.
Marg wasn't feeling flash, so she did bugger all, but managed to do some more to her "Dream Catcher", it's looking good but not finished yet. I will take a photo of it when finished. I love the bright colours.
After brekky, I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 10:01am.

The highlights of today's ride were:
1. It's a given - the views are just stunning from the Lighthouse area and the mouth of the Mooloolaba river(aka The Spit).
2. My friendly feathered birdie was back with just 1 strike, pretty pissy really BUT still a strike with NO misses.
3. Seeing all the yachts off Mooloolaba in a very light breeze.

I arrived home at 12:54pm after 47.3kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 1,052kms for July.
681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 21st ride at Dicky for a total of 939kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,251kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 1 'attack' brings it to a total of 20 strikes and 4 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

Marg had run out of 'pom pom' looking balls for her "Dream Catcher". So after showering, we drove to Kawana Waters shoppingworld. She know that it would cost her a coffee, she agreed to my demand. At the 'cheap' shop, she found her 'pom pom' things. We walked to Donut King, where we had coffee and 2 'free seniors' cinnamom donuts and then did a small food shop from Coles. Back at camp, Marg went to bed, as she is still feeling 'ratshit', while I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was a scratch meal, Marg didn't feel like any, SO I had Mr Coles' Pub Favourites "Beef Schnitzel". It was quiet nice.

Tomorrow we have nothing planned except I hope to ride.

10:08am - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

11:39am - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

11:42am - Taken from the Lighthouse looking North West.

11:39am - A big tanker just cruising by to Brissy.

11:41am - This dude missed a fisho off his port bow.

11:42am - some of the fleet.

11:48am - More of the fleet.

11:52am - A great day for a family sail.

12:48pm - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 115 - Monday 1st August 2016.

Relaxing and Riding - Dicky Day 26.

Similar to yesterday, today was sunny all day, started cold but soon was warm.

Marg is back to normal. We woke up about 6;30am and got up. We had brekky, Marg settled in adding to her Dream Catcher. I buggered about on my laptop. I do a lot of that.
I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:36am, it was still cool so I wore all my long sleeve cycle 'lycra' jacket and long finger gloves, I was warm. The sun was out with hardly any clouds, so it was warming up but still cool when riding in the shadows. I rode over 1,052kms for July and started this month with my normal 47kms. As I rode up the carpark Hill, my friendly feathered birdie may a strike and a half hearted strike and a miss. I turned around and rode my 2nd lap. Coming back up the Hill, my friendly feathered birdie struck again with 3 direct strikes but after that he flew to a fence and watched me, SO I thought bugger you. I will try and take your photo. Lucky for me, he sat on the wall and allowed me to get 2 photos before flying back into his tree lookout. I even managed a photo of him in his tree. He was pretty well camouflaged. He was sitting on a branch directly above the road, no wonder he managed to hit me 25 times.

I arrived home at 11:43am after 47.0kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 47kms for August.
1,052kms for July, 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 22nd ride at Dicky for a total of 986kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 2,298kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 5 'attack' brings it to a total of 25 strikes and 5 misses since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse.

After showering, we walked over the road to Rose's Bakery for a coffee and read the Herald Sun on our iPads. For the remainder of the arvo, Marg was adding to her "Dream Catcher" it may be finished by tomorrow night. For something completely different, I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was Marg's world famous omelette. It was extemely YUMMA.

Tomorrow in the arvo, we are packing up.

8:47am - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

10:26am - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

11:34am - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 116 - Tuesday 2nd August 2016.

I am a wimp - Packing Up - Dicky Day 27.

Ok, I woke up at 6:30am, looked out the window, expecting to see the sun and would then go for a ride. What I saw, was a cloudy NOT inviting day, so I WIMPED out and told Marg that I wasn't riding.

So that immediately changed my plans for the day. I now had heaps of time to pack up what we could. During the morning, I drove the mighty Navara upto the Caltex Currimundi toppped it up with diesel and air in preparation for tomorrow's departure. When I came back, Marg and I walked over to Rose's bakery for a coffee and read the paper on our iPads.

Back at camp, I started to pack up outside. First job was to empty the shitter, then roll up the awning, fold up the ends and side and skirt, pack away the clothesline etc. By the time I had finish the sweat was dripping off me. Tomorrow, we don't have much to pack, only Sat Dish, and hoses and Marg's naughty room and a few other bits.

Dinner was roast pork and vegies that Marg bought at lunchtime. It was YUMMA.

PS: Marg's "Dream Catcher" isn't finished yet, consequently, no photo. It is looking good.

Tomorrow, we leave Dicky Beach about 9am and head back to Broadwater Tourist park until 22nd Sept.

8:47am - At Coondibah Creek looking due East.

10:26am - Taken from the Lighthouse looking South.

10:31am - Taken from the Lighthouse looking North West.

10:22am - After hitting me, he rested on the fence.
