This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.
- Weather: A very warm night, 16.9° at 5:30am and reached a sunny 25.3°.
- Wind: 15 - 39kph Northerly.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Kochie on Sunrise. I dressed into my cycling gear and left about 7:30am
to meet Dad at Cavill Ave in Surfers. I arrived there about 7:55am and just beat Dad who arrived a few minutes after me. We rode along the
esplanade shared path dodging all the pedestrians and headed to Southport YC, then over the Nerang river bridge, through the Broadwater Parklands,
past our caravan park and upto Anglers Paradise. This is my turnaround point, so we did a U turn and retraced our route back to cafe rockpool,
where we stopped and had a coffee and a chat. After coffee, we headed back over the bridge, past the Yacht club, back to Cavill Ave, where we parted ways.
I headed back to camp via the Spit and finally arrived back at camp about 11:30am.
Latest riding update: Today's ride of 50kms brought my total at Southport to 841kms or 4,345km so far this year.
We had lunch and Marg's brother Ted rang to say he and his daughters would be popping in this arvo. They arrived and stayed for a couple of
hours, they were impressed with our setup. The rest of the arvo was spent just buggering about on the internet.
Dinner was sausages, eggs, etc. Real Yumma.
We watched Big Brother then watched the "house husbands" from last Sunday, this series shows promise.
Tomorrow we are taking Mont to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
No photos today.
This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.

- Wind: 5 - 33kph North Easterly.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Weekend Sunrise. No cycling today.
Luke rang about 8am to say that Jodi had left for work and taken Mont's carseat with her and could I go and get it, as he can't go anywhere without it.
As usual, I did. I drove to Pacific Fair, found Jodi and she gave me the carseat, then drove to Luke's and picked up Mont and her car seat and drove back
to our camp. Marg was ready and we headed off to the
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
We walked over most of the park
and then caught the train to the Kazngaroo feeding area, Mont loved feeding the roos then we did a full lap of the park and then went to the gift shop and
Mont picked out a Koala which we bought for her. We dropped Mont back home about 3pm, she was very tired and when Marg and I arrived back at camp, we were
buggered.
Dinner tonight was sausages in bread and were Yumma.
TV tonight was useless, so we watched the Adam Sadler's "The Waterboy".
Tomorrow nothing is planned except for an early morning ride.
Mont was scare of the birds.
Grandma and Mont enjoying themselves with George.
Mont didn't want her photo with Monty.
Lunchtime - cheese sanga.

- Weather: A very warm night, 12.9° at 3:30am and reached a sunny 23.4°.
- Wind: 10 - 32kph South Easterly.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Weekend Sunrise.
Luke texted me to say he will be around about 8am as he will be out riding his motorbike, and he was. We chatted for awhile and then he rode off into
the sunset, well maybe not. As it was such a lovely morning, I rode out to the Spit and saw heaps of jetskis, there was a multi club regatta on and they
were racing from the Spit to QOne in Surfers and back, about 10 kilometers. I saw the cops on their Police Quad bike patrolling the coastal path, but
couldn't get a photo. Rode back past our CP and headed upto Anglers Paradise and then turned around and headed back to camp, but stopped at Georges' hangout,
as there were some Georges flying around, so I tried to take their photo.
Latest riding update: Today's ride of 28kms brought my total at Southport to 871kms or 4,375km so far this year.
Left home about 4:15pm and picked up Jay and Bec and arrived at Dreamworld about 5pm. Walked inside and our seats were in the 4th row from the front, both
Jay and I being over 6' 3", stood out like 'dogs balls', among the shorter stature people. Jay said that cameras were not permitted, so I left mine in the car.
Sure enough, there were cameras everywhere, you were told NOT to film during the actual show, so I am taking my camera tomorrow night with us.
We were shown to our seats, fourth row from the front, embarassment plus, there weren't too many 'old farts' there, apart from me. Mike Goldman warmed up
the crowd, with jokes, prizes and other crap. The girls of all ages, just screamed. Sonia looks great for a 47 year old. There were people in the front row
dressed up in wigs and costumes to look an absolute idiot and succeeded. We
were offered free tickets for tomorrow night's nomination night, so Marg
took two, guess where we are tomorrow night, at least, I will have my camera and hopefully, take photos of the crowd, set etc.
We had Maccas on the way home and then watched the taped episode and we were not seen, I think that was good. If you watch frame by frame, we may possibly be
seen, but otherwise, we are safe.
Tomorrow riding with Dad and then back to Dreamworld to watch Big Brother Nomination night.
The start of the jetski race.
There is always someone going or coming in the seaway.
George and his brother George, just doing a fly by.
Annoying the seagulls.
I'm getting closer, just missed his feet down landing, maybe next time.
George flying overhead.
Big Brother Eviction Night ticket.
This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.
- Weather: A very warm night, 13.4° at 6:00am and reached a sunny 23.3°.
- Wind: 10 - 32kph Southerly.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Kochie on Sunrise. I dressed into my cycling gear and left about 7:30am

I headed back to camp via the Spit, where I saw another baby brown snake and a crab, which appeared lost and finally arrived back at camp about 11:30am.
Latest riding update: Today's ride of 50kms brought my total at Southport to 921kms or 4,425km so far this year.
Had lunch and then drove over to South Park for a coffee and some food shopping. Left home about 4:45pm and arrived at Dreamworld about 5:15pm.
Tomorrow it's Bingo at our club..
Big Brother Nomination Night ticket.
The tickets said gates open 5:30 - 6:00pm and close at 6:10pm. Well we got to Dreamworld about 5:15pm, I don't like being late, and stayed in the mighty Navara until 5:30pm. We stood in the above queue until 6:10pm, I was pissed off. Big Brother (BB) treat the audience like shit. On Sunday's Eviction show, there was probably 1 to 2,000 people, tonight there was about 200 people max. Purely by coincidence, we sat one row behind our Sunday night seats. Middle photo is the stage. Right photo is the big screen which shows all the cameras as above or anything else.
As the crowd was small, they hang a black curtain over the last row, see RHS of left photo. Mike Goldman was the warm up guy on both Sunday and Monday's shows. He had us practice 'screaming' and clapping, I wasn't big on the screaming, but I joined in the clapping. Sonia came out before the show started and spoke to us, just made small talk. She not too bad for a 47 year old. Once the show was taping, phones, videos and cameras were NOT allowed, so we turned them off. before and after the show, you could photograph whatever, some even walked onto the stage.
Sonia was rehearsing some bits before the live show. Middle photo was The big TV screen showing the BB logo. Mike warming us up.
Sonia leaving the stage. During each ad break, Sonia would leave the stage and get her makeup touched up. Mike would come back during the ads and gee us up again. Right photo, at the end of the show, Marg wanted her photo taken or did I want to take her photo. Marg did ask if I wanted my photo taken, I kindly declined.
At the end of the show, you could take photos, so I did. Middle photo, looking towards the back of the auditorium showing you the larger 'picture'. Marg out the front of BB at Dreamworld.
This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.
- Weather: A very warm night, 13.7° at 5:30am and reached a sunny 24.4°.
- Wind: 10 - 32kph NW - N NE.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Kochie on Sunrise.
This morning is BINGO at our club, so we were in no rush to get ready and leave. Ted our neighbour from San Reno, had to take his motorhome to have the
trailer wiring attached, he has ordered a new trailer to tow his 4WD.
We did leave camp at 9:45am and drove to our club. The crowd waiting for the doors to open was the smallest number so far, I thought great we have a
better chance to win a game. It costs us $42 for our tickets and last week, after Marg used the electronic machine, she was back using the normal paper
tickets. Not a great day today, I was the only winner, just once winning $20, so we left losing $22 for the day.
After Bingo, we drove to Australia Fair, where we had lunch in a cafe, and then bought some decorations for some 'old farts' birthday tomorrow. but the
party is on Sunday at the beach near our site. Back at camp, we both had a nanna nap, as we are slightly tired after 3 days of stressful living (Took Mont
to Currumbin Wildlife, then 2 nights of Big Brother), we are old and can't handle this stress. :)
I even sent Luke the Senior Card Application form to print for me, so i can complete it and forward it to wherever it goes, as I turn 60 tomorrow.
I told you that I am old.
No riding today, I am feeling my age.
Dinner was nachos, while watching Big Brother and then House Husbands.
Tomorrow probably riding with Dad, then Mum, Dad, Marg and I are having lunch at our club for my birthday.
No photos today.
This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.
- Weather: A very warm night, 13.5° at 6:00am and reached a sunny 24.8°.
- Wind: light breeze in the morning, building to 15 - 26kph NE.
We both slept well and woke about 6:45am and laid in bed and watched Kochie on Sunrise.
As it is my birthday and Mum and Dad are picking us up at 11:45am to take us to lunch, we postponed our ride together until tomorrow. Dad would not
have enough time to ride and then get back to his apartment and be back by 11:45am. So I rode by myself, out to the Spit, where I saw the Sea World
jetski photographing the dolphin that had its tail bitten off by a shark, then back to Anglers Paradise and back to camp.
Latest riding update: Today's ride of 27kms brought my total at Southport to 950kms or 4,454km so far this year.
Dad rang at 11:45am from out the front of our park and Marg and I walked out to meet them and then I drove Dad's car to our 'club'. Mum and Marg had
toasted sandwiches, while Dad and I had roast beef and pork with vegies. It was Yumma. After lunch, we showed Mum and Dad around the club, they were
suitably impressed. Dad was rapt because his favourite Pokie machine was there. I was happy that Dad and Marg didn't play the pokies after lunch. I drove
the four of us back to our park, where we thanked Mum and Dad for lunch and went our separate ways.
During the afternoon, we laid on the bed and read (I am reading Eric Clapton's autobiography, he is just about to join the Yardbirds) and then we fell asleep.
Dinner was pizza as we had a decent meal for lunch, after dinner we watched Big Brother.
Tomorrow, I meeting Dad at Surfers at 8am for our ride.
The Whale watchers boat leaving the seaway.
Check how calm it was today. Absolutley beautiful.
The Seaworld jetski photographing the 'tailless' dolphin.
This is our 6th week at Broadwater Tourist park.
- Weather: A very warm night, 14.2° at 5:30am and reached a sunny 25.1°.
- Wind: 10 - 50kph NW - N.
We both slept well and woke about 6:30am and laid in bed and watched Kochie on Sunrise. I dressed into my cycling gear and left about 7:30am
to meet Dad at Cavill Ave in Surfers. I arrived there about 7:55am and just beat Dad who arrived a few seconds after me, this is getting to be a
habit, just beating him there. We rode along the esplanade shared path dodging all the pedestrians and headed to Southport YC, then continued
along the coastal path behind the Sheraton Mirage, where we veered off the main path towards Seaworld Drive. We continued along the road to the
Spit with Dad following me, until we were about 200 meters from the Spit carpark, where he dropped down a gear and the motor took over and he
powered past me, I was sitting on 24kph. Bloody hoon.
We rode out to the end of the Spit and checked out the views, the breeze was still light at that stage and the water was flat. We then rode back along the
Seaworld drive as Dad isn't confident riding on gravel after he fell and broke his hip 2 years ago. Bloody wimp. As we past the Sheraton Mirage, I looked
out over the ocean and saw 2 whales going mad. Jumping out of the water, by the time that we stopped, turned on my camera, they had stopped, but I got a splash.
Big enough that it wasn't made by a flathead. we watched for a few minutes, but all was quiet, so we headed to and crossed the Nerang River bridge, and rode
through the Broadwater Parklands to Cafe Rockpool, where we stop and have a coffee and chat. After coffee, we headed back over the bridge, past the
Yacht club, back to Cavill Ave, where we parted ways. I headed back to camp via the Spit again and finally arrived back at camp about 11:30am.
Latest riding update: Today's ride of 50kms brought my total at Southport to 1,000kms or 4,504km so far this year.
We had lunch back at camp and then drove to South Park for some food shopping and beer, no coffee as Michels as it was chockers and I could not be bothered
waiting. The rest of the arvo was spent just buggering about on the internet.
We left camp about 4:25pm and drove to our club, as it is Thursday night, Margs Pokie night and I am updating this website with a chilled refresher at my side,
before we have roast whatever at 5:30pm. Today, the club is excessively noisy with a lot of 'loud old farts' fuelled with jungle juice.
We will watch Big Brother, then I will probably read my Eric Clapton ebook, he has just formed 'Cream' with Ginger Baker.
Tomorrow I will ride and nothing else is planned.
I caught the splash and the 'blow'.
