Home to Turnaround Pt down to Surfers via GC600 Park to Surfers to The Spit (both ends - twice) then back through GC600 Park back to Cafe Rockpool and finally back Home about 50+kms.
Today's highlight: Riding by myself in lovely weather.
I left home about 7:57am, after my daily coffee at Josephs. The scenery was magic. The breeze was light and the Broadwater was calm and glassy.
I headed towards Southport first, as I approached the Sundale Bridge, I noticed the workers are erecting the fences for the Gold Coast Show. I rode over the Sundale Bridge then headed towards Mirage Mirage complex, around the perimeter of Seaworld carpark, a lap of Muriel Henchman Park, headed to the tip of Moondarewa Spit, then out to the end of the Seaway/Spit, did another lap of each Spit, back past Southport SLSC and then did a lap of MacIntosh Island before heading home. Did a lap of 'our' caravan park (Broadwater Tourist Park).
There were 190 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
Arrived back home all safe and sound but buggered for some unknown reason.
9:05am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: Riding by myself in absolutely magic weather.
School Holidays for everyone has now finished.
I left home about 6:19am, the sun was just about to rise. The scenery was magic. The breeze was light and the Broadwater was calm and glassy.
I headed towards Southport first, as I approached the Sundale Bridge, I noticed 2 Hot Air Balloons slowly approaching me, so I stopped and took a couple of photos. The leading balloon crossed the Bridge at a height of approx 150ft. headed towards Mirage Mirage complex, around the perimeter of Seaworld carpark, a lap of Muriel Henchman Park, headed to the tip of Moondarewa Spit, then out to the end of the Seaway/Spit, did another lap of each Spit, back past Southport SLSC and then did a lap of MacIntosh Island before heading to Kamal's Shak Espresso for a coffee. Steff was on duty today and still remembered my normal coffee. Did a lap of 'our' caravan park (Broadwater Tourist Park), and stopped and chatted to Neil and Annabel, who we met in our Caravanning Stage of life. Arrived back home all safe and sound but buggered for some unknown reason.
There were 201 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
7:42am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: Meeting up with Lukey while he was going for his morning ride.
I was sitting at home buggering about on my laptop, when I thought 'stuff it, it is too nice a day not to ride' so I did.
I was texting to my 2 boys this morning, when I texted that I would be going for a ride and Lukey said he was going for a ride also and would try and meet me somewhere along Seaworld Drive near the Spit.
Lukey rides a Kawasaki Z H2 motorbike, which is a bit more powerful than my pushbike.
His Kawasaki Z H2 has 998cc supercharged engine.
I left home about 10:38am, the weather was beautiful. A light Southerly breeze with bugger all clouds.
As I was meeting up with Lukey, I stayed on the main shared path, which runs beside the roads and makes it easy to see Lukey approaching.
I headed towards Southport first, over the Sundale Bridge, stopped and checked where Lukey was, he was getting closer. As I was passing Seaworld, Lukey past me and stopped at the Muriel Henchman Park, and chatted. After a few minutes, we went our separate ways. I did a lap of the Doug Jennings Park and gave the Spits amiss. I headed along the Federation Walk, along the shared path, doing a lap of 'our' caravan park (Brodawater Tourist Park), then headed home.
There were 217 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
Arrived at home. One of my BEST rides, it was great to meet Lukey on his motorbike.

Today's highlight: Riding by myself in absolutely magic weather and appearing on Ch7 Sunrise..
IT IS NSW SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
I left home about 5:58am, the sun was just about to rise. The scenery was bloody unbelieveably great, hence why I took a million photos. The breeze was light and the Broadwater was calm and glassy.
I headed towards Southport first, over the Sundale Bridge, rode through Mirage Mirage complex, around the perimeter of Seaworld carpark, a lap of Muriel Henchman Park, headed to the tip of Moondarewa Spit, then out to the end of the Seaway/Spit, then along Federation Walk, along the shared path to Surfers, then returning home, did a lap of MacIntosh Island before doing a lap of 'our' caravan park (Brodawater Tourist Park), then headed to Lands End my Northern turnaround point, before arriving back home all safe and sound but buggered for some unknown reason.
I had only ridden 500meters before the scenery got the better of me, I stopped and took photos of Susie Lou. Continued along the shared path over the Loder Ck, past 'our' caravan park, through the Broadwater Parklands, over The Sundale Bridge then past the Superyachts jetty (no superyachts there).
Riding through the Marina Mirage complex and jetties, the sun was rising and I stopped many times to take photos. The views were magic.
Continued upto and through the Seaworld carpark, stopping at the main entrance for a photo. Strange how there were nobody there.
Next stop was at Muriel Henchman Park where I stopped for a few photos, which showed yachts moored in Bum's Bay. The view was unreal.
Continued onto Moondarewa Spit, took photos, then headed out to the Seaway/Spit. The sun had just risen and the photo of it just behind the beacon was rather nice.
I felt OK, so I headed towards Surfers, riding along the Federation walk. I haven't ridden to Surfer or along the Federation walk since 3rd Oct 2023. The Walk needs a bit of maintenace, just opposite Seaworld the Walk has completely disappeared caused by Cyclone Alfred erosion, we were redirected to another gravel path.
When I got to Southport SLSC, the shared path that ran along the edge, had been completely eroded by Alfred. You now ride along the grass areas.
Heading towards Surfers. As I was riding along the shared path at Narrowneck, I saw the ch7 female reporter, doing her thing. So as I rode past her I hoped that you would see me in the background.... When I arrived home, I searched and found me on Sunrise. Un...fucking...Real......
As I approached Surfers the pedestrian traffic increased immensely. I stopped at Hanlan St lookout, took photos, then headed to MacIntosh Island, where I talked to Mark, one of the Gold Coast Council head gardeners. Bear in mind, that I haven't been to MacIntosh Island for yonks and last time I was there, Mark told me that he was retiring soon, well that date is this year, once the Supercars Race is completed.
After taking some photos of Goosey Lucy and mates, I headed homeward. I approached 'our' caravan park (in our caravanning stage of life, we had stayed 757 nights at Broadwater Tourist Park, hence while I call it 'our' caravan park). Anyway, as I approached 'our' caravan park, I noticed 2 black swans and their 6 cygnets, so naturally, I stopped and took photos. Did a lap of the caravan park. There were 215 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
I continued homeward, as I got over the road from our apartment, I decided to ride up to my Northern turnaround point at Lands End.
Arrived at home. One of my BEST rides, the weather was absolutely stunning.

7:30am - At the tip of Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: Riding with my 10yo Grandson.
It was the same course as yesterday.
The weather was cloudy and cool with light Nor Westerley. We left home just before 8:00am and home about 10:15am.
We rode around the Shared path from Charis Seafoods to the Superyachts Jetty at Southport YC via the BIG Playground and The Sundale Bridge and return.
We stopped at the BIG Playground just past 'our' caravan park, Mase enjoyed it immensely. We continued to the Superyachts Jetty via the Sundale Bridge before heading back home. The Dredge that is restoring the Gold Coast beaches with pumping sand was docked being refuelled, so I took some photos. On our return trip we rode through 'our' caravan park and mase remembered one of the sites that we stayed on numerous times (site 88). Just as we were opposite our apartment, Mase for some strange reason rode over too and stopped and tested out the Ninja Park again. He appears to like the Ninja Park.
It is great fun riding and communicating with Mase. Life is GREAT.
Tomorrow, we drop Mase back to his house.
Today's highlight: Riding with my 10yo Grandson.
Being school holidays, we have Mase for a 3 night sleepover. Marg and I love having him stay with us.

Through the Muriel Henchman carpark, rode to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos and ate my banana.
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit, but headed to Southport Life Saving Club to check out the Beach erosion. It's still eroded with heaps of beach to still be sand pumped.
Took my time and loved the ride.
Arrived at home. My bum is still NOT used to the seat. Another great, enjoyable ride.
